Whether God is considered necessary or not by individual choice and preference, God is a reality, rather the only reality.
Man requires faith in God to understand the invisible and to restrain from doing certain deeds which are believed not to have been sanctioned by God. Faith in God should not create fear, but should love for the Almighty and create the awareness about His being Infinite and All-powerful.

Let's bring it down to the level of human life.
Let's set up a situation in which the whole world is covered in water.
A master shipbuilder has constructed the most magnificent giant cruise ship. In order for humans to survive out of the water, they have to live in this cruise ship. The Fridges are stocked up with full supply of food. The storage rooms are filled up with all kinds of materials, medical supplies and equipments. People are free to use whatever they like, do whatever they like to each other in the ship, but will suffer the consequences if they break the rules of the ship. Some people start to use the name of the master shipbuilder to frighten people, some use his name to set up classes and make money. Some disillusioned with life start to blame everything on the shipbuilder. Some start to quarrel and fight about whether the shipbuilder is necessary for them....
One person asks, is the master shipbuilder necessary?
If you answer "not necessary", you don't believe the existent of the master shipbuilder, You don't agree that there is an architect behind every structure and building that people live in.
If you answer "necessary", you have taken the time to find out, seek out the master shipbuilder. You know that there is an architect or a shipbuilder in order for the ship to exist.
The master shipbuilder will always be necessary whether the human answer is yes or no.
Just because human say so does not alter any facts in the universe. People say this, people say that. People copy what other people say. But truth stands alone and human speech does not have the power to alter it.

Is it necessary that you breathe air?
Is it necessary that you eat food?
Is it necessary that you sleep under dark and wake under light?
Is it necessary that you are born of flesh and blood and free of deformities?
Is it necessary that you have clean air, water, fertile land?
God created all these raw materials for human to use.
Who made them if there were no God?
Who gave you your life? Your parents. Who gave your parents their lives? Their parents....and so on.
God made man in the first place and humans just evolve and develop from then on.
People who don't believe in a God is not answering the question why do things exist in the first place?
God made all scientific laws and people are there to discover them, apply them and use them.
The life span of a human is at the most around 100 years old.
The oldest may be 130. And how old is the earth?
God is necessary so that human exist.
God can ask, are you necessary? What would you answer?
God created the law of cause and effect (known under the name of Karma), just as Newton has discovered his third law that stated that for every action there is a reaction. To study how this law works, you have to study the law of Karma. You have to study many laws. Scientists are doing it all the time. You have to work on it to understand it.

Yes of course God is very much necessary. In this world, every walk of life needs some kind of control. Like we have bosses in our offices, teachers in schools etc. These people exist to see that something happens in a procedure and disciplined. They are always superior than us in knowledge, experience, bail us out of troubles and often clarify our doubts.
God is like that for the entire mankind. May that be imaginary or real, the world needs some kind of control for it's disciplined functioning. That is God.
Also in a age where people suffer due to loneliness, stress there is a severe need to rely on someone who is always reliable. No co-humans can always serve this purpose. For that we need God. We pray, our prayers get answered, and we feel happy.
Taking all these factors in to consideration, our ancestors have created or said about the concept of God. It is obviously necessary!

I would say YES. We all were born to be a flash of the Divine Sparkler in that case, as we all have to go back( as a protest against stagnation) to where we came from, I personally worship God in prayer daily. The Bible is like a Manuel to life or to how to live and act as we are confronted by every day situations that I call test. I really can not imagine life without the Creator Almighty.
God bless us all...

GOD is whole and sole responsible for this creation, and also for writing the Destiny of everyone. There is no question of HIM being necessary as we all wont exist itself without HIM. And, Man is a potential GOD as we have to go within to find HIM.

Yes, God is necessary. Not for you or myself, but for those who cannot deal with life as is. They need some hope of a better tomorrow. God provides a security they need.

Consider this : An archaeologist digs deep into the desert sand and finds a piece of an old clay pot. After his investigations, this archaeologist can tell us, from this little old piece of dusty clay, so much about the civilisation that existed thousands of years ago that produced it; he can tell us about the types of ovens, temperatues, and dyes that they worked with, the raw materials that they used, and thus assess the level of their artistic skill and technological ability, etc. All this from a small piece of clay lying in the desert.
Did this archaeologist ever see the civilisation that produced this pot ?
How does he know that it ever existed ?
He knows because he saw that the piece of clay was produced by someone who designed it, and shaped it, and had the intelligence to be able to heat it and produce the pot, and not only that, they also had the ability to colour it and make it look beautiful.
Design ==> Designer.
To the archaeologist the existence and intricacy of the piece of pottery is conclusive proof of the existence, intelligence and ability of the people who made it.
Look around you: at the beautiful sunset on a summer evening, at the moon and the stars on a cloudless night, at the water that you drink, at the trees and how they grow from tiny seeds.
Think about yourself: your eyes with which you see, your ears with which you hear, your tongues with which you taste and talk, your hands and your feet, your heart and your brain.
Consider how these things are so complex in themselves and yet work together in such perfect harmony.
From the movement of the galaxies to the complexities of the interaction of molecules, from the dynamics of eco-systems to the intricacies of DNA, all lead to the obvious fact of the existence of the great Wisdom, Knowledge and Power that allows our Universe to exist and function.
To any perceptive person the existence and intricacy of creation is conclusive proof of the Existence, Knowledge and Wisdom of the One who creates, organises and sustains it.
Most people naturally recognise the existence of the Creator, and we find reference to the Creator in all cultures and religions. Even the atheists, communists and (disbelieving) scientists cannot avoid this reality, but avoid the term 'creator', for phrases like 'Mother Nature' and 'the amazing way nature has designed...'
How strange in the face of this, that many today reject the belief in the existence of the Creator. Perhaps this is due more to fashion and the desire to justify a materialistic attitude to life rather than real observation and comprehension of reality.
Something stranger still, and perhaps another reason for the trend to deny the Creator, are those who claim that a man, or men, who walked on the earth, breathed air, who had bodies and souls subject to the Laws of the Universe, are the Creator, or manifestations of the Self-Subsistent One.
This is of course a complete contradiction in terms. Something cannot be the Creator and created at the same time, needing air, food and drink and being self-sufficient, being temporary and eternal!
If you are one of those who believe that a man such as Buddha, or Krishna, or Jesus is the Creator and Controller, then think again.
We were created from a drop of despised fluid, in which was a microscopic sperm, which in turn fertilised a microscopic egg and we grew in our mother's womb in stages predetermined, over which we had no control. We came from our mother's womb, urinating and defecating, needing constant attention and care. Without food we will die, without air we will die ... and then such a one is God?
Indeed any intelligent person would recognise exactly how dependant life, the universe and everything is on its Creator. Our dire need for His help makes itself plain in times of great distress.
Imagine yourself in an aeroplane and you know it is going to crash...
Who do you turn to for help then ?
Or on a ship in the sea, thrown helplessly up and down by towering waves ...
There will have been a situation at one time or the other in your life when you called upon your Creator alone, forgetting everyone and everything else, hoping, trusting, wishing that the Being you know in your heart and soul that has power and control over all things would help you. The only One you know can save you!

We cant do anything about 3 basic elements, God, soul and matter (maya), for these are eternal.
The day we understand this basic knowledge, we will start adoring God. What we are doing today about God is only rituals and when we dont get any achievments of those, we get frustated about our lives and blame God for the failures.
