Yes and No.
You can not stop birds from flying over your head but you can stop them from building a nest n your hair.
You cant help having thoughts but you can stop them from turning into sin.

I believe the line is "Any man who looks upon a woman with lust has commited adultery in his heart."
Lust is not attraction. Lust is not natural behaviour. Lust is not beyond human control.
Lust can lead to adultery.

No. You can be attracted to someone out of love not lust.
I am sexually attracted to my husband - but out of love.
Don't confuse lust and love - or think that all attraction is based on lust.
A lot of people now allow lust to rule them, and confuse the lust they feel with love. They are truly not the same.
Jesus did say that if you lust in your heart for another you have already commited adultery. That should be true in all forms of Christianity.
It has more to do with intentionally encouraging and nuturing these feelings - then just having them pop up and then putting them out of your mind. You sin when you intentionally cultivate them with intent to act.

Lust is the same as adultery. If you think of someone with lust in your mind and heart you have committed the sin of adultery. Not all people commit the sin of lust. Some us know how to control such things

Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience, we all inherited the sin nature. We are all sinners. All of us can be homosexuals, murders, fornicators, thieves, adulterers, gossipers, addicts, gluttons or liars. Probably even more than one of those. We all posses this sin nature, which causes us all to be born separated from God and do the things that He has told us not to do..
Jesus came to the earth for the purpose of becoming the blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Those of us who will choose Him as our Lord and Savior and repent (which means to turn away from sin), will be given the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life with God.
God doesn't want anyone to be lost. He loves us so much even though we are born sinners. He has provided Jesus’ sacrifice for us while we are still sinners.
Not choosing Jesus is the only way that we remain separated from God. It is then, our job to stay filled with the Holy Spirit that He has given to Christians (those who have accepted Jesus) for the help we need to obey Him. Prayer to Him and obedience is what God has ask us to do for our benefit.
Coming to Jesus for love, leadership and forgiveness is the way to have a better life here, a renewed relationship with God and the promise of Heaven. The only way.

It's a Saudi backed school teaching the Saudi version of Islam. And this surprises people? Nothing will be done about it, as in spite of Saudi being one of the most intolerant countries in the world, where foreigners are pushed to the front to watch public executions, (a friend of my parents worked there for a few years and had horror stories about that,) the simple fact is, this country is in bed with Saudi Arabia in the name of oil. But stealing is ok when it's done to non-Muslims, eh? That so explains the price of a barrel of oil through OPEC.

From a spiritual standpoint, yes. But there is still a difference between thinking about something (which could just be regarded as temptation) and actually following through with the behavior. There are more consequences for behavior than for thoughts.

I thought lust was going after people when you allready had someone to be with. That is adultery, also, wanting someone other than who you are committed to. Ask a pastor, especially if you are Catholic. I am very biased against Catholicism since my ex was a Catholic and left me, and had to lie to his priest to be remarried. Its against your Catholic rules to remarry, yes?
I have since found Christianity to be a very fair, reasonable, truthful relationship. Not a "religion", like Catholicism seemed to me. The rites, beads, religions of Catholicism seemed fake to me, especially since my ex accused me of being such a heathen, but he was the one that cheated on me. I have since forgiven him, but my example has led many to Christ so far, so I feel like God is using me in my new calling, His Daughter of Christ. I love it.

Passage James 1:13-15:
13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death
not till the deed is done

That is a humanistic trait. I believe when Christ was on the earth, that he was able to see that trait and know that it is an uncontrollable lust. I love to look but do not lust. Does that count?

Catholics are all about guilt.
Its like global warming, even if you quit now, you will feel the effects for some time.
Catholics also teach original sin, meaning that no matter how perfect you are, you are going to hell.... Unless you toe the catholic line.
This, of course, negates the concept of free will. You cannot choose not to have original sin.
its mind control, as with all religion. Just more focused on making you sad.
