First of all... they will check if you live in an Apt. to make sure that you are allowed to have an animal.

litter box, litter, scoop for litter, pan liners are awesome, food bowls, food, toys, treats, something to scratch on even if he or she is declawed, a vet lined up to have it checked out sometimes the SPCA will provide a list an the first visit should be free

Checklist:
Cat litter box
Cat litter (you could try getting 2 small bags of both scoopable and non scoopable to see which the cat prefers, some cats are picky about this)
Cat litter scoop
Cat food (watch out for the food recalls)
Some cat toys (to help cat settle easier and for bonding)
Cat collar
ID Tag for collar (just incase the cat goes outside)
Food bowl
Water bowl
Treats to help with training
I would also advise getting a squirt bottle to help with training
and a sratching post to keep the cat from clawing up your furniture
Here's a link to check what foods have been put on the recall:

Hope this helps ya out!

Okay, first things first. You need a clock that makes a ticking noise. Why? The kitten will miss the comfort of his/her mother so the ticking will act as a pulse. Other things you'll need will be kitten food (I prefer dry), litter box and litter, a bed, some toys (kittens LOVE to play), food/water bowls, and plenty of love!
