If someone who is not married has intercourse with someone who is married and knows that they are married is it adultery on both of them or only the person who is married

Plain and simple ,it is adultery for both parties and Gods judgement will be on both if they do not turn away from that sin.

Both. It takes two to commit this sin. One is not more guilty then the other. Both chose to break the bonds of marriage in order to have sex. Just because one isn't married doesn't mean they are just as guilty. Legally it would be called facilitation. I.e. the one who knows/orders/watches a murder is just as guilty as the one who strikes the fatal blow.
But - if one of them was unmarried and didn't know that the other was married - then it is fornication for that person. Not adultery. They didn't knowingly commit adultery. But they did engage in sexual intercourse before marriage - which is a whole other set of sins.

The unmarried person commits adultery as well because they knowingly are having sexual intercourse with the married person.

well, both is sin, but I guess that both might be adultery, because one person is married and the other knows and does it purposefully, plus if the other person gets marrieed it would be adultry
