You could most likely get a visa waiver if your visit will be under 90 days. You need your passport, on the plane they will give you and I-94-W Visa Waiver form (as UK is one of the countries the US will do this for). You will need the address and phone number of where you will be staying while you are in the US...if you do not have that information they will turn you back. Most of the time this would be all that is needed in your situation.

Call the American embassy in London and find out the real truth. What you hear on this site is not even logical, let alone reality. So far you've gotten one really bad answer and one that's dubious. Yes, you will need a visa. You're a Pakistani national who is not applying from his homeland. Yes, you will need a visa to get into the US because you're not a US or Canadian citizen. Yes, you will need a visa because you're coming in as a tourist and want to be able to get back into Britain when this trip is over.

CALL THE AMERICAN EMBASSY AND GET A FACTUAL ANSWER LEST YOU BE STUCK IN AN AMERICAN AIRPORT AND CAN'T GET PAST THE CUSTOMS OFFICIALS!

because of the fact that 1982 for a infant to be born British a minimum of between the mummy and dad could desire to be a British citizen or legally settled in the united kingdom on the time of the delivery - i don't think of a student visa counts. Your newborn would be born American, yet determine you register the delivery with the embassy.
