The ring is nothing more than him showing he is a mason. There is no secret about it. I am a Freemason your friend should not be acting like that.

I am from Maine here we are told to talk about the group to anyone who asks. Your friend either doesn't really belong, or doesn't go to a lot of meeting and doesn't know the answers to your questions.

U98 is very right

No secret really. It is just a ring. Like any other fraternal association ring. No chips or secret decoders. Why do Christians all seem to plaster fish stickers on their cars. Similar thing. If another Freemason sees the ring he might say hello.

A masonic ring, is the same as any other piece of jewellery and holds no special powers.

As a Christian wears a cross to represent their faith, a supporter may don a scarf or team shirt to show their allegiance to a certain team etc etc a Freemason may decide to wear a ring to show his membership.

It is simply a piece of jewellery that a person likes to wear. If your friend tells you any different he is yanking your chain!

Freemasons wear a ring as an induction into the sect,at any time should another freemason see that his fellow member in trouble and he sees the ring he is obliged to help him. They do chants, rituals etc.

No special reason, just because he has one or maybe because he is proud to be a freemason. Perhaps just to annoy you.

The world may never know. The Masons are very secretive. I know that if you have a ring on you will get preferential treatment from other Masons. My uncle was a high ranking Mason but if you asked him about it he wouldnt talk about it to us. Things that make you go hmmmmm. Peace out...............
