Basically difference of 100 mAh. Could using a Motorola V3m charger fry my Zen Micro? The battery in the V3m is 780 mAh and the one in my Mp3 player is 680.

mAh is a technical term for how much power a particular battery will hold.

What is really important is that the Voltage and the type of battery (Lithium, Ni-mph, etc.) need to match the charger.

For example, you can use a 9 V 600 mAh or a 9 V 720 mAh battery in a camera. The 720 mHh battery will just last longer.
(not a good idea to mix batteries of different mAh though)

i could be scared to target it. I were given an iPod Shuffle, the respectable Apple mains charger expenditures £30. On Ebay, I were given a charger of similar specification for only £10 (made in China, yet so is iPod).

It's the secondary voltage you should be concerned with.
