You choose to answer the questions you do.

You choose to sit hour after hour in the religion section.

Nobody is ringing your doorbell.

Like television...if you REALLY don't like the topic, CHANGE the channel. Nobody is taping your eyelids open and has you bound to a chair in front of TBN....

Anyone agree at all??

I think the term "shoving it down my throat" should sometimes be substituted with "passing over my voluntary ears"

Thoughts??

I do believe you stated that quite nicely...and accurately. They like to use a double standard on here. They love to dish out hate and blaspheme the things of God, but if a Christian says the least little thing they object to (which is everything) they attack and mock them. God's word is as powerful as a two-edged sword, and it convicts people of sin. Guess that's a little hard to swallow.

In fact this is the problem with the "god" question. If there is free will. Then god gives you the power to do as you please. That means when you get cancer and are on your death bed that god has refused to help you. Think about that really carefully. There is not a crafty enough answer in the world to combat this. That is why every time I have asked this question about free will on line know one answers me.

I've wondered about that, myself. If you don't like my answers, don't read my posts. Simple as that.

But in these days of political correctness, we're never supposed to say or do anything that might offend someone. If you do happen to express your belief in God, you're automatically accused of "shoving your beliefs down someone's throat."

Never mind that other groups can freely express their views. . .just don't let Christians try it. Talk about double standards!

Here? Yes, I choose to be here. I do not choose, however, to have fundies writing the laws of our land, as that IS forcing their religion down my throat...

And since I believe the battle is won on a personal level, getting people to understand that everyone has the right to their beliefs regardless of how it jives with someone else's, then I will "change the channel" and move on to another topic that threatens the freedoms of my fellow Americans...

So yes, I agree with your premise insofar as it relates to the message boards...

Actually, no one has any free will. It's entirely illusionary.

Yes, we make choices, but those choices are predetermined and calculated by our past experiences and our current state.

It's the same as giving a computer an IF/THEN/ELSE statement... it will make a choice, but by the time you reach the condition of the IF, the decision's already set in stone even though it hasn't happened quite yet.

I must be having a problem with my screen. It does not seem to be displaying a question!

They are talking about the meat world. It is a bit harder to just shut it off out there, where it is demanded in pledges, and printed on our money.
