to live a life of crime with his blessing and protection...... would you do it?
Please don't take this question to seriously. By life of crime i mean it could be things you consider moral but illegal. Like hacking the source code of windows and giving it out to people for free.(since you might believe Microsoft has a immoral monopoly) Your life of crime could be one of evil as well and it would be forgiven. What would you do and why??

The majority of answers here has left me utterly incredulous. I've never read such self-serving rhetoric! Where in the Bible does it say that God made all that is good and Satan created all that is evil? Where does it say that God hates OR loves little white lies told so as not to hurt someone? Why is it that so many of you who are Christians have to constantly rewrite the Bible to suit your own needs? God commanded Abraham to kill his son. He had Lot rape his daughters. Are you going to tell me now that it was all the work of Satan? Please! Your all-knowing, all-loving God wouldn't ever allow someone as evil as Satan to take over for him, would he? You say we were given free choice. Since when does free choice become 50/50? You believe, you go to Heaven, you don't believe you go to Hell. GREAT choice, God! How self-involved can one God be to only offer salvation to those who believe in him? Why would he need ANYONE to believe in him? Is he that narcissistic? And if he was soooo loving, why create sin and evil in the first place? Why not just make everyone happy, compassionate and loving here on earth? What kind of test is that? Noone who was all-knowing or all-loving would need to test his subjects. He would make them images of himself, period, and he wouldn't hide from them. Jeez! Get real! The questioner didn't need to explain his/her case more clearly. It seems the blind followers of Christ will go so far as to pretend that the question posed is something entirely different than it is in actuality. You're going to tell me that your Bible is wrong and God didn't ask for sacrifices in his name? That's called "lying". I guess you're all going to hell.
As for would I, nexusmoon, the answer is rarely. In a Robin Hood type atmosphere I would but only if it involved an advancement of mankind. I care about humanity and for me to act otherwise would be terrible for myself and everyone around me. It would extinguish all that I work for and believe in. And if I heard a voice in my head calling itself "God" I'd wonder if perhaps I was developing schizophrenia and go immediately for psychiatric help.

Sure! I'd have to be really sure that there was a god first though, because jail is no fun!
I think if I could lead a god-protected life of crime, I'd probably just be a scam artist. I wouldn't trick ordinary people out their money, but I'd go around from state to state and set up "accidents" in Abercrombie and Fitch stores or cut the break lines on a brand new Volvo that I'd made arrangements to test drive first thing in the morning. Things like that. I have a very devious mind, and it would be fun if I could put it to more use!
**edit -- this was a fun question. its too bad that more people didn't have fun with it!

In all reality. .God would probably never ever do this. However, If God told me to do something then i probably would do it. God told several people to certain things that were unpleasant for them in the Bible. .and in the end there was always a silver lining. I would put my faith in God and my trust in Him to get me through whatever it is He is demanding from me. Now, I'm not saying I'd just be like "OK, well God said it so lets get to work". .I'm sure I'd take time to think it over, pray, and talk about it with others. It would be extremely hard for me to do what you just mentioned because it goes against everything the Bible teaches.

In a Robin Hood, civil disobedient kind of way? I may break man's laws, if I saw a good reason to do so, but not God's. If God wanted me to do something truly evil, I wouldn't believe it was Him.

there is never a good reason to break the law and a worker is worthy of his wages. If he made the product he is within his rights to sell it. God would not ask someone to break the law. God always incouraged the people to obey the laws.
What kind of society would be lawless?
Say you made a product and wanted to sell it but someone else learned how to steal it and gave it to others?
Would he be a thief if he gave it away? Yes, by his intelligence he came up with something no one else had.
Does that make him a criminal?
Man, courts or god is going to get you out of jail when you get caught. Not worth it man.

I would have to be REALLY sure it was God's Will for me. For that is not something I would be willing to do on my own. I would spend a lot of time praying, and talk it over with wiser family members, friends, or better yet, a pastor.

I usually think "if" questions are very dumb because they are things that usually won't happen. But if God asked me to do something then there is a reason for it. So yes I'd do it. But if questions are really just a waste of time.

as to whether it was evil......were the actions evil or were the actions to thwart further evil, there is the question, surely there have been " evil " governments and rulers, would breaking their laws be good or bad?
