LA/Long Beach is a big area, go and visit first before relocating. LB is very nice and expensive close to the beach, and very rough further out. There are many areas to LA, too many for me to write to you about in this forum.

You don't need to bring anyone with you, there are 15 million of us here in the great LA Basin. Plenty of friends to make.
