On Easter Sunday should I dress like a "proper young lady"? My daddy and charm school teacher agree I should wear a dress, however, most girls here (including the overweight ones) wear extremely tight jeans to church and I did until recently.

I agree with your dad and charm school teacher. You don't have to dress like your daddy's little girl, but I don't recommend the tight jeans. I suggest a skirt and cute blouse. Hey, you never know.....if your dad doesn't approve of your church clothes, you make get a shopping trip!!

I would say you should dress appropriately for church. It is true that the youth today dress more casually for church than the adults. However, you must keep in mind the type of attention you would draw. I will say, that as a person in leadership, I have had to politely request some young girls to dress a bit more modestly for church, because of complaints received from men (young and older) that were very distracted by such revealing clothing. If your Daddy would like you to wear a nice dress, then that would be nice. It's Easter Sunday, and a special time for families to attend church together. If you want to wear jeans, consider jeans that are not skin-tight, but comfortable. You don't want to distract people from listening to the sermon. Happy Easter.

Well I perfer my clothes tight fitting since I can't stand anything baggy, It feels like they're coming off or I have a hole or something if they're a bit loose. Just show some class not ***. No holes across your buttcheeks or knees. If my Buzia (polish for grandma) ever caught me going to church in jeans, she'd lecture me for an hour. The only times I've gone to church are on holidays since my church is an hour away, and I do dress up so everyone can comment on how pretty I've grown. But since I only go four times a year, It's like a nervous first date.
Go ahead and wear a nice dress for easter sunday and wear the tight jeans for the other sundays. That's what's comfortable and you don't want to pass out in chuch. (Once my grandma fell into the aisle b/c she fainted. Since that, my grandpa took the aisle seat.)

As a guy who has worn and still wears extremely tight jeans to church, I say it is perfectly fine. Doesn't matter if it's Easter or Christmas or just another Sunday. They are pretty much the norm nowadays anyway. You're only young once. You'll have plenty of time to follow other people's unwritten rules when you hit mid-life and beyond.

On Easter Sunday wear your "Sunday Best." For the other non-holiday Sundays, wear anything you want as long as it is clean, does not show too much skin, is not tattered and is comfortable. If you are asking for advice, then you have doubts about your clothing. If your father has asked you to wear something more appropriate for church, that is a big clue that maybe you have a too casual look for church. As for the other girls, do you think that if they wear tight jeans it makes it okay? Lead by example. Just remember why you are going to church-for God or for showing off your newest skin-tight Designer Jeans?

It is usually a sign of respect to wear something tasteful to church. However ,a church is a house of worship for all.God welcomes all who come into his house of worship not just the best dressed. The church is not a venue for a fashion show. There may be valid reasons someone may not be dressed in what may be percieved as appropriate. The homeless, the low income family, the traveler who decided to attend while wearing t-shirt and shorts. Jesus ministered on a hillside to the masses not just the wealthy. It doesn't really matter what you wear to church as long as you listen to what is said. Lori since you are asking about wearing too tight jeans and if you should wear them ,I would think you have some better choices in your closet.

The purpose of going to church is to worship our Creator. We should enter the Sanctuary with reverence and respect. Would you wear extremely tight jeans to visit the president? Most people would wear their best clothes out of respect for the president. Even much more we should show respect in our dress when we go to worship God. Your dad and charm school teacher is right. (However if you only have jeans to wear to church ... then come as you are but wear the best you have.) God Bless you as you celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.

No, it is not appropriate to wear extremely tight jeans to church, and I am assuming you are referring to a Catholic Mass, being Easter Sunday.
Show a little respect. Good Catholic girls are supposed to remain a virgin until marriage. Wearing tight clothing of any type will only attract men that will take what you give, and not what you are saving.
That's my sermon.

I guess it really depends on the congregation and what you feel comfortable with. Personally, I never wear tight jeans anywhere. I did wear jeans to church frequently though. (Back when I believed and went to church, that is.) On Christmas and Easter though, I would have dressed a little more formally.

Show respect for a place of worship. You know it isn't appropriate to wear tight jeans by asking the question. Have respect for yourself while you're at it even when your peer group cares less about their appearance.
Show some pride in yourself which is all right to possess so long as it is pleasing unto the Lord.
