ROME PAYS $110 MILLION TO SETTLE CHILD SEX ABUSE CASES IN IRELAND.
The Roman Catholic Church in Ireland has agreed to pay
$110 million to avoid further sex scandal litigation. More than 20 priestsand members of religious orders have already been convicted of molestingchildren, and some estimate there could be as many as 3,000 sex abusevictims. Those who take money from the Catholic sex abuse fund must agree
to drop legal action against both the Catholic Church and the state.

I guess they would call that paying for their sins I bet now they will feel free from or the evil caused
3,000 sex abuse victims is that all ?
Or is that only the victims that spoke up ?
How many would live with what was done to them and say nothing because they feel embarrassed ?
Well I hope all the members of the Catholic Church keep giving money to the Church so the Church can keep up with their SINS
I am Proud not to be Catholic : )
Love & Blessings
Milly

The Bible does command the followers of Jesus to tithe about 10% of their income to the Lord, which is done through the giving of offerings at church on Sunday mornings. That is why I do it. I am not Roman Catholic either, though I do believe that that is a just cause to give money to. Sexual abuse is not good and is very damaging to the individuals who are abused, physically, mentally and emotionally, and if they are seeking compensation, if I were a Roman Catholic, I would have no problem with the church using the money that I give in tithes and offerings to this cause. What I do have a problem with is the pastors and other church leaders taking all the tithes and offerings of their parishoners and using them to pay for great big mansions and cottages on the lake and other stuff like that, while at the same time neglecting giving funds to certain charities that would help those who are less fortunate get some help on their feet. That is what I have a problem with. If I am giving money to some sort of an organization, I would like to know that the money I give is going to a more noble cause like the one you just mentioned or to some sort of charity than to have information given to me that the money has just gone straight to the pockets of the pastors and leaders of the church so that they could buy that new swimming pool that they want for their summer get togethers. As a future church leader in training, I see these examples brought forth in the news and I am greatly disturbed and utterly appalled at the actions of these so called leaders of the church. That is an unacceptable place for my offerings and tithes to end up. Places like the Roman Catholic Church's sexual abuse fund are examples of great places where I would have no problem knowing that my money went to.

Interesting.
I tithe when I can because Moses began that tradition. However, the Bible also states that God's workers are to ask for nothing and expect no payment. God will provide.
The Catholic Church is another story and fully described in the Book of Revelation as the Mystery Babylon.
Let's see...
Their leader the Pope, is a former Nazi soldier.
The Vatican was a supporter of the Nazis.
They protect child molesters and employ gays, since that's the only people they can find to represent them.
They advocate drunkenness,
promiscuity
divorce - which Jesus said we should not do, but Moses allowed in the Old Testament.
TEACH their people to follow Pagan practices and traditions.
That all goes back to Constantine at the beginning of the Vatican Empire.

that's appalling disgusting and just wrong.
My church feeds the hungry, supports a rehab, sends bibles all over the world and helps the less fortunate in our congregation when they need it with the money we give.
And I've seen the accountants records every dime is accounted for...
better yet our pastors take no salary from the church they work on the side to support there family's.

Because ultimately it is Gods money. Those tithes go toward good things like keeping justice, fightingting homeless and helping people who are less off than I am. There is no doubt that chuyrches make mistakes and they will continue to do so for we are all imperfect. But dont believe everything you read in the media.

Assembly of God
To have light, heat, water, a place to sit and worship. Also, to help the missionaries, the Pastor's salary and to keep up the building maintenance. To help those in the community that may need help paying their bills or getting food for the family.
Because in the end, it glorifies God who provided me the ability and stamina to work to make money.

the Bible does NOT teach to give one tenth of your income. This was an old testament practice related to the temple and would be seen as today's social security system which we already pay into. this is just another method the pastors are using to get rich.

No more!
Now I spent most of my income to do what Jesus commands: spreading the Gospel and helping the poor.
Oh what a joyful profession.

Because it'll please God and buy me a ticket to heaven.
By the way, the Bible says to pay 1/10 of your INCREASE over last year, not 10% of your salary. Most churches ignore this rather important distinction.
