How do you annoint a prayer cloth?

You can hold it in your hands and just pray and ask God to anoint it. Or you don't have to touch it at all. By faith you just ask God to put His anointing on it and He will do it if you believe Him. But the whole point of it is to believe God has put His anointing on it by faith.
