You can't fix what you don't admit. If you go to the doctor and tell them that you have a sore toe instead of a broken are, you are going to leave with your arm still broken.
Since you are having a hard time communicating with the doctor and change your story when you are there, here are two suggestions. For the first write a letter describbing your symptoms and problems, include some answers to questions that you know she will ask. When you go in to see her, give her the letter. That way it will be hard to change. The second is very close to the first. Instead of taking the letter in with you, mail it in before you even make an appointment. That way you won't have to worry about changing your mind at the last moment.

You should definatley come clean with yourself completly about how you feel and what's going on with your body. Once you have done this you really need to go back to the doctor and tell them everything truthfully. The doctor would not be able to help you fully if they do not know the whole truth about what's going on with you. If the doctor gives you snide comments or anything like that then I would say that they weren't a very good doctor. Chances are though your doctor will be able to give you tons of tips to be able to help you out better. Also if you have a very close friend that you could talk to occassionally (or whenever you want) would also help out alot. I used to have these problems a coupl of years ago but finally relized that hiding everything or just parts hurts more than helping. I hope you get everything worked out. Also don't be to hard on yourself.

If you don't have a GP that you can trust and rely on, I'd advise to do your own research. Do some online questionnaires about mood/personality disorders on the net - find out which fit you and then look into what they recommend for treatment. THEN go to a doctor, talk to him about what you've discovered and ask to try a medication YOU'VE deemed suitable. I'm sure you're an intelligent person and can be responsible for your own health and wellbeing. Don't leave your peace and sanity in the hands of a stranger who doesn't know who you REALLY are!

#1 Never lie to your doc, and if you feel uncomfortable talking with him/her than go to someone else, maybe not permenately but for a second opinion type thing. #2 If you are not already consider pills, I was on it for awhile and I no longer cry for no reason and I eat alot better. Never be afraid of someone judging you because if they are than they're not worth your time. Doctors are smart people (most of the time lol) take their advice, you'll be amazed at how much it may help. Go in there not expecting them to answer one way or the other, and if they say something you dont want to hear than I dont know...again talk to them truthfully and honestly and follow their advice.

The doctor patient relationship must be based on trust and honesty to get the results you want. You can't go to the doctor for a broken leg and just tell the doctor you have a headache! Tell the truth and get this issue taken care of.

First, get honest with yourself. Then be honest with your doctor. They aren't out to hurt you...just make you better. Sounds like you have a lot of anxiety. SHARE this with the doctor so they can help you be a whole person again.
If you don't tell the truth about what is going on, they won't have any way to help you.

You are going to a doctor to be treated for a condition you have. The reason youfeel guilty is that you have not been honest. How can he heal you if you withhold information of any kind? You have to ask yourself if you really want to get well or if beig ill gets you attention or sympathy.

OK splash cold water on your face. Now look in the mirror and say " I will NOT lie to my doctor and I will tell her everything that is going on with me" You cant expect to be "cured" when you aren't giving the medical staff the correct information. Don't worry they don't want to judge you, they want to help you get better!!
