As a Muslim, I know a lot about Islam, its nice that you are interested in learning other different religion, a lot of people think Islam is the bad religion its terrorists well its not, actually Islam means "peace". In Islam, Muslims believe in one God "Allah" and Muhammad who was the last phophet of God, Muslims are suppose to pray five times a day, help people, does not allows Muslims to eat pork(pig), drink alcohol, gamble, sex before marriage, being mean to others, and also Muslims are suppose to read the "Quran" which it the holy book from God(Allah) that he gave to his phophet/messenger Muhammad, it took
place in Mecca, Saudia Arabia. Christianity believes in Jesus as one of God's phophets and reads the bible. One of the common thing between both religion is that both believe in the last day(judgement day) and both believe in one God(Allah). I hope this information helps you become more aware of. Thanks for being interested in Islam. : )
may God(Allah) bless you

Islam and Christianity are actually fairly similar in many respects. The main difference is that Christianity places emphasis on love and faith in God, whereas Islam emphasizes submission to God. This is the main philosophical difference. Of course, ceremonies differ greatly, with Muslims requiring five brief individual prayer periods per day at any place, and Christians having weekly group meetings at a church or other gathering location. Muslims also have some dietary restrictions that Christians do not.
A word of caution: there are a LOT of misconceptions about Islam in America, due to the bias in the media. I would guess that less than 1% of Muslims in the world practice Islam as most Americans perceive it to be practiced. If you read about Islam, make absolutely sure it is from a reputable source. I would suggest using books, as a google search will yield all kinds of rubbish, especially if it was written post-9/11.

Customs, tradtions, and some of the moral code is different.
Both are monotheistic. One true God. Both believe in Heaven and Hell.
In Islam: Jesus was a great prophet, but not as great as Muhammad, who was the Seal of the Prophets (the last one) and revealed God's word in the Qu'ran.
In Christianity: Jesus died for sinners so that we could have eternal life. The Bible is inspired by the Hold Spirit, whereas the Qu'ran is said to be the literal word of God delivered to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel.

The religion of Islam was begun early in the 7th century by a man named Muhammad who claimed to have been visited by the angel Gabriel. During these angelic visitations, which continued for about 23 years until Muhammad's death, the angel Gabriel revealed to Muhammad the words of God (which is Allah in Arabic) in Arabic. These dictated revelations comprise what is collectively known as the Qur'an, Islam's holy book. Muslims, the followers of Islam, believe the Qur'an to be the preexistent and perfect word of Allah. Further, there is no such thing as an English, or any other language, version of the Qur'an. These are simply translations of the meaning of the Qur'an, which only exists in Arabic.
The key beliefs of Islam are that Allah is the only true God that exists, and that Muhammed was Allah's prophet. In fact, by simply stating this is a person considered to have converted to Islam. Islam itself means "surrender" or "submission." Because Allah is the only true God, the religion that worships Allah must naturally submit to him only, thus "Islam." Islam purports to be the one true religion, of which all other religions have derived themselves from or been created in a mockery of (including Judaism and Christianity).
Muslims, followers of Islam, base their lives on the Five Pillars: 1) The testimony of faith: "There is no true god but God (Allah), and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of God;" 2) Prayer: five prayers must be performed every day; 3) Giving: one must give to the needy, as all comes from Allah; 4) Fasting: besides occasional fasting, all Muslims must fast during the celebration of Ramadan (the ninth month of the Islamic calendar); and 5) Hajj: the pilgrimage to Makkah (performed in the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar). These five tenets make the framework of obedience for Muslims, and are taken very seriously and literally. A Muslim's entrance into Paradise hinges upon obedience to these tenets.
In relation to Christianity, Islam is obviously different in many important areas. Islam is monotheistic as Christianity is, but Islam rejects the concept of the Trinity. Islam accepts certain portions of the Bible, such as the Law and the Gospels, but rejects the majority of it as slanderous and uninspired. Islam believes that Jesus was a prophet of God created just as Adam was--from the dust of the earth—though born of a virgin, but was not actually crucified, nor does Islam believe that Jesus is God (only Allah is God). Islam teaches that the Qur'an is the final authority of Allah, and is the last revelation from Allah given to man. Although the Qur'an is the main holy book, the sunnah is considered the second source of religious instruction for Muslims. The sunnah was written by Muhammad's companions of what Muhammad said, did, or approved of. And lastly, for this list at least, Islam believes that Paradise is gained through good works and obedience to the Qur'an.

Christianity's main belief is about Jesus, the Christ who is both man and divine. The main difference between Islam and our religion is about their treatment of Jesus. Christianity considers Jesus as a God. Islam views him only as a holy man. For them, Jesus was only a prophet sent by God, nothing more, nothing less. Islam sees Christianity as the corrupted teachings of Jesus perverted by his followers. For Islam, the followers of Jesus invented many spurious teachings and propagated them through evangelization. Although, they both believed that Jesus will have a second coming that will mark the end of this world.

They are both very flawed. I think that Islam is much more oppressive to women. Women are treated like property more then equals in a loving relationship. When Americans think of "Islam", they think of terrorist, but those are the extremist. You also have Christan extremist. The KKK claims to have Christan roots, but come on, who are they kidding? Some people think that all religions lead to one supreme being (God). The truth is, if you whole heart idly believe in one, then you can't believe in the other. Both religions, and others claim that if you acknowledge other "gods" then you are denying the one true god(whoever that my be).

About 6 to 8 centuries of value evolution.
The Christians used to kill infidels, just for being infidels, but, they've grown up a bit in the last few centuries. Islam is still somewhere in 1400.

christianity gives women more respect and rights and freedoms
Jesus was the son of God and was crucified, died, then resurrected to eternal life and will come again. Jesus was God incarnate, God living a human body's life;
Mohammed was just a prophet and just died without coming back to life.
Christianity is an extension of Judaism, Jesus tought in synagogues, ,
Islam is separate and often antagonistic to Judaism, and fought against synagogues
