Why do some people think that God only did miracles in the Bible and is not doing them now?

That has always baffled me...

Who says He is not? I see them quite often. The people that see them most often is where the church is underground due to persecution.

Show me a miracle. Give me a man who walks on water right in front of me or parts the seas. If God provided these sort of miracles in the Bible, why is it the best you can come up with today is "every birth is a miracle" or "just look around, nature is a miracle". Give me a group of midget actors each riding a kangaroo performing in an ice skating recreation of the Chinese restaurant episode of Seinfeld, and I will believe!

Because they are so caught up in their everyday lives they don't think about God. That is why miracles are happening more in other countries now because a lot of the time there life is on the line and they have to rely on God more! As a supposed Christian nation we do not let God in our lives anymore and that is why you don't see miracles!

Read the Bible... and that was Jesus who performed miracles. And others performed miracles from God. He still does. Jesus's miracles were more of what you'd be talking about. Jesus was only on the earth for a certain amount of time. God, Jesus, and the Spirit made a plan (Yeah sounds quite from a movie but I learned this at school) to save humanity from sin and from satan so they sent Jesus as the perfect sacrifice. After Jesus died, ressurected yek yek, he stayed on the earth for fourty more days and went back to heaven because the duty was done. God sends guardian angels and they perform miracles for him. It's just that no one realizes that miracles are always happening every second.

Perhaps he is but his miracles are too vague and spread out for the rest of the world to see. A statue bleeding in Mexico will probably never make the front page in the united states papers. If a flood of water was going to hit New York and it suddenly stopped dead in its tracks then America and the rest of the world would notice.

I think that God makes miracles happen around the world everyday, and that he tends to work through other people. He also creates miraculous healing everyday, and people think they are better because of something they did.
To answer your question...I believe that they may have less belief in his miracles of today as there in no texts to prove it. If I had to make an educated guess, that would be the one.

I am so glad that you asked this question! God Bless!

Miracles were preformed for a purpose and would appear to have ended after the apostles died.
The purpose of miracles during the first century was to establish the fact that Jehovah and now turned his attention from the old Jewish system to the New Christian Congregation in which his son, Jesus Christ is the head of.
Now that the Congregation of Christ is established, the need for miracles have stopped.

God still does miracles now-a-days. I'm a living testimony to that. I was delivered from the damage done due to alcohol abuse in an instant! I only had six mounts to live. Now, it's five years later and I've never been better!
