I just heard that Congress is involved in the recall and now menufoods and FDA are now being investigated by Congress and they are going to find out why they did not say anything earlier and that animals are going to have a voice in this. It was on the News tonight. I was watching the news just now when they said it.

Yes... it is about time. It had to take a massive tragedy like this for the authorities to take notice that the pet food industry is out of control. Some people may be (justifiably) biitter and pessimistic; but I for one beleive that something CAN be done and something WILL be done so that this sort of thing never happens again - not on this scale at any rate.
You know, at first I though I'll just switch to a cat food maker that is NOT involved in this present recall....but you know, anyone can make mistakes... so now, I am seriously considering making my own cat food... in fact, I just cooked their first home-made meal today! Yehehay!

Congress investigates everything and nothing ever comes of it. It just looks good to voters. Every time gas prices go up, they investigate possible price fixing among oil companies and nothing comes of it. When was the last time you heard of anything meaningful coming from a Congressional investigation? Yawn.

BTW, I was at my vet today and asked them if they had seen any poisoning cases. They said they tested a few animals for concerned owners but didn't find any suffering renal failure. They had not heard of any other cases in our area from the other vets in our town - they have been talking to each other. I wonder if the problem is somewhat regional. Interesting.

For a moment, I had a glimmer of hope upon seeing the words "congress" and "recall" in the same sentence.

Alas, the sentence was referring to pet food or some such...

I hope that menu foods gets there a** sued. Sick basta*ds. they knew that their food was tainted for 2 weeks to 3 months before they even told anyone. Sick idiots. So many innocent animals are dying.
