A Toyota Extended warranty was purchased through the dealership and at the time of purchase they had charged for the warranty + tax. They advised when I cancel within 30 days, they will refund the money. Dealership has to refun the warranty price + tax? Is this correct or what?

A warranty is not a taxable item, at least not in any state that I know of. Check with your state tax laws.

after I sold my 05 honda civic I cancelled my extended warranty. I owned the car 2 years-they prorated the amount. the extended warranty covers repairs after the 36,000 miles warranty ends. If you do not use the extended warranty for the full term you will get a full refund-this is all stated on the back of the extended warranty contract papers.

Generally, tax is not charged on extended warranties, because, technically, an extended warranty is "mechanical breakdown insurance", in other words, an insurance policy.

In addition, if you financed your car, the lienholder will recieve the refund, and deduct it from the balance of your loan.
