there is no harm in calling poison control...that is what they are there for! everything should be OK though. its straight protein, and will go right through him. the only concern would be if you have poisonous spiders where you live.
welcome to the beginning of weird things swallowed by your child.. it only gets more interesting from here!!

Normally spiders aren't poisonous, so he should be alright.
Just keep an eye on him, if he becomes ill, then call a doctor, I don't know where you live, if you are in the UK call the NHS helpline, if it will ease your mind, By the way you use the terminology poison control, I assume you are in a different Country, so ring them if it will ease your mind.
Men don't become so anxious over things like swallowing a spider, like a mother does, they don't understand how worrying it is to be a mother. Most Dad's seem to be laid back when it comes to their children, quite the opposite to mothers, I suppose it helps to have one parent cool as a cucumber and one not.

I've called poison control because my oldest got in the fridge and found some shredded cheese that had gone bad.
I suggest you visit terminex.com and identify the type of spider if possible. It's rare that a spider is poisonous and small enough for a 9mo old to eat.

Did you know the average person swallows something like 10 spiders in their sleep during their lifetime? No kidding! I would not worry about this unless the child is under duress of any form . It will naturally pass through the body!

If the kind of spider is unknown I would highly suggest seeking medical help. Any type of creepy crawley around the place tends to carry around bacteria don't they.
It really wouldn't hurt to ask a professional. Your son must be quite adventerous :-) You can tell him this story when he's older lol.
Try not to worry. All the best.

Kids swallow bugs and such all the time. If the spider was a small one that is usually found around the house, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

No. He would desire to be merely positive. they are no longer venomous, and whether, the quantity of venom is meant for killing bugs. there is not any longer plenty in there. Your toddler would desire to be merely positive. If it disagrees or his physique sees it as a toxin, he will throw it up. i'm partly specific which you will certainly consume venomous issues too. the only element i could be apprehensive approximately is the spiders fangs, however the variations of it tearing the thick gut of your toddler are slender. do no longer worry, and save an eye fixed in case he's showing soreness.
