I don't know how so many people can say that piercing doesn't hurt! I have a pretty low pain tolerance, and despite that I have 6 piercings and 2 tattoos. Anyway, I was in a lot of pain the first time I got my ears pierced, so much so that I started feeling a bit sick (plus I think it shocked my system, having the earring punched through my ear!). The best piercing that I have had was high up on my ear, in the cartilage. It was done with a needle and I really didn't feel anything, it was amazing. I don't know what you can really do to numb it, it is after all a foreign object being shoved through your earlobe. Good luck!

It's not the piercing, itself that hurts. With the little "gun" (they really need to come up with a better name than that!) they use, it's almost instantaneous, and it just feels like a sudden pinch. (And I don't mean like the dentist who says it'll be "just a little pinch," and you're in agony!)

I've had two holes put in twice, and each time the piercing itself was really nothing. It was the annoying, dull throb for a couple of days afterward that I didn't care for.

I don't mean to scare you, though. The first time I did it, I was 11 years old. The second time I did it I was 30. Somehow, even though I'm a big ol' baby, I survived to tell the story!!

You'll be fine. Breathe in. Breathe out. Do it. Move on.

it wont hurt, but if you would rather not feel it then try rubbing some baby teething gel into your earlobes to numb them. its a bit easier then using ice.

it is honestly over in a millisecond and it doesnt hurt, it is more of a warm feeling you get where the earring goes in, and it feels warm for a few hours after.

also , they dont use needles, its like a tiny gun that clamps onto your lobe then pops the earing through super quick. the earring has a pointed end so it goes easy.

good luck
:)

You dont need anything to numb it and you won't ever see a needle. It's in a little gun like device and it's over before you know it. I have 5 in each ear and the only one that even hurt me was the one in the top cartilage. If my 5 year old daughter can do it without crying, you can do it.

well it doesn't hurt...

however, you're saying that your pain threshold is low so I would recommend you get your ear numbed with ice for about 15 minutes and get pierced with a "gun" (it's a little gun that makes the hole and put the ear ring at the same time)

that way it won't hurt, for recovering put some ice every now and then.

Do it you'll be fine

It doesn't really hurt that bad but to me it is just the sound of that gun clicking. There is really no cream that I can think of that really work to numb but I used ice on mine. leave the ice on your ear as long as you can stand it before they get ready to peirce. Also take a pain reliever before you go it really does help.

Yes it does hurt. This will help. Hold ice to your ear for several minutes and then have it pierced. You won't feel anything but pressure. It is not a needle. My daughter had hers done this way and she did not feel a thing.

Cant you numb it with ice? It really feels like a pinch that I think people who anticipate major pain make it out to be worse than it actually is.

U don't need to numb it! and u don't even see the needle! They just stick the peircer up to your ear and click your done! It just feels like someone pinches you.

I would put ice on the ear it helps the numbing. and have someone else Perice the ear so you dont have to see that its going into your ear.
