You sound like a natural Existentialist.
Heaven or hell will be what you make of life, YOU will be responsible for what happens in your life, not some fictional characters pulling your strings.
And when you finally expire, your legacy will be all that lives on. For you, after life will be sweet Oblivion, and the dreaming of stars.
Good luck, adventurous soul.

Try atheism, I can only imagine how great your relieve will be when you realize that heaven, hell and afterlife are man invented tools to control the people and raise children through fear.
I believe it's the third time I'm telling this today, but ok, I'll tell again what I think about afterlife.
Before I was alive, I was dead too. For me this was an eternal nothingness. My body is made out of matter and energy from the earth and the air. When I'm dead again after this life, there will be eternal nothingness again. My body will return to the earth as matter and energy again. My soul or spirit will continue to live after death through my children, and in the way I influence my environment.
I think this is a pretty way out of the hell and doom story.

Nope. Two choices, God or Satan. If you are not with God, you are with Satan. It's really simple.
The fact that you have this question and acknowledge both, means that to some degree , you believe they both exist, but just want to have a third choice, out of the pride and ego of yourself thinking that you even deserve a third choice. Since your thinking about choices, I would say you have had your door knocked on by God. Heed to his call to you and make the best choice. Jesus forgives those that will seek and ask.

Good question.
Why isn't there a choice to just not exist at all after death?
Because the humans who invented religion knew that would not be enough to scare anyone into doing as they wanted them to do. It has nothing to do with anything but Control, and a lot of people are falling for it. They have invented their god and it is a monster who will not just make you no longer exist, No, it's one who will leave you to be Tortured for ALL ETERNITY. And this proposed god has to be the one who set it up that way. No one else could do it. So all this "god doesn't send you to Hell; You send yourself to Hell" stuff is just BULLCRAP.
This alone says that religion is a crock of crap but people don't have the critical thinking skills that it takes to realize that if a god existed he could just as easily have made people not exist who didn't want to be with him, but instead chose to have people BURN. What kind of god is that? It's a terrible god and people are brainwashed into believing that god is "Love" and "all Loving". If that god existed it's not "Love", it's "THREATS".
If Hell exists then god can't be Love. It just doesn't wash. Yahweh is just as mythical as all the other gods that humanity has ever invented. People just need to accept it and move on with their lives.

The third choice is the best one, and that is to be true and Honor yourself, and simply respect others that may make different choices than yours.

Yes, it's called: treat others well and wait until you die to know the truth about creation. That's the third choice: wait and see. But it's not really human nature to be patient like that.

Remember satan and his followers want as many in hell as possible.
Misery loves company.
I suggest you stay away from anything that steers you away from God.
