You cannot give yourselves a thumbs up, but, when the question goes to a vote you can go back and vote for yourself. I have and I have voted for others that I think are better answers than mine. I kinda thought you guys didn't know you could vote. When they say the yahoo team voted for your answer that means us. We are the yahoo team. lol We deserve good answers so should be fair in voting. Mmm

Who has a better answer? If the other answer was better, I would have provided it.
There is no rule that prohibits a person from voting for their own answer anymore than a candidate for office is prevented from voting for themselves, nor is there any code in the site that prevents a person from voting for their own answer, nor do you need a different account to do this. In fact, voting for yourself with a DIFFERENT account IS a violation of the rules, for the obvious reason that a person doing this could exploit their account and vote for themselves twice, instead of just the one vote they are otherwise entitled to.
You can't answer your own question, and you can't "thumb" your own question or answer.

Actually, there have been many times when I've voted for answers other than my own. I don't really get all fired up about points and thumbs-up or down or being voted best answer.

Uh, seeing as that is impossible to do, I dont ever do it.
Unless yoou are creating multiple accounts and then voting for yourself. But, an honest, moralistic person wouldnt do that. They would earn Best Response by virtue of having the best response...
