Wallpaper is not a great idea if you live in an area with high humidity. If your area is really a desert, you should be fine using wallpaper. A couple of hints...any wallpaper that doesn't allow the gypsumboard wall underneath to breathe is more likely to bubble and peel...or let mold build up under it. If you do decide to use wallpaper, make sure that it really is paper, not vinylized paper or a true vinyl wallcovering. Anything with a "slick" coating doesn't breathe, and can cause mold.

In the design industry, paint is becoming more and more popular. In some of the more humid areas of the country, building lenders are refusing to finance buildings if any non-breathable wallcoverings are placed in the building.

It would be best to just paint instead of wallpapering ur house. but of course anything will peel in the heat of the desert.

Wallpaper is becoming less and less a favorite but in a high humidity area I would look toward decorating in the style of the area. Paint would be better and easier to change should you decide to. For the same reason, I wouldn't do hardwood floors but would rather choose stone.

moisture and damp is more likely to make it peel off.

Ask your neighbours. That way, you're very local information, so it will apply.
