i got this old radar from the air force how do i make it do the beep thinm and how do i make the sweep work do i have to have antennas or what

the sweep on the display is linked to the antenna position (electrically), so yes, you need to have the antenna rotate, or at least where the actual antenna mounts to. Oh, and radar doesn't really make that beep noise, unless its in a movie or on TV.

it is a cathode ray tube with only an ac current running through it's horozontle deflection coil (enough for it to span across the screen) and the verticle deflection coil's wire ends run out of it so when you apply an ac current you can see the frequencies because the verticle deflection coil is simultaniously inducing and reducing the energy that runs through it

the more frequency you have the more waves you have on the screen and the verticle axis represents voltage while the horozontle axis represents time

but if you apply a dc current to it it will do nothing at first but then when you disconnect it the magnetic field in the coils will colapse and you can see a strait line at the top or the bottom of the screen
