and what are the uses it? Will it allow me to save you tube and flash files to disc ?

Here are a few .flv players. (My own personal preference is the last one as it plays other formats too.)
The first response you received is a good one, but there are other add-ons for Firefox that also download YouTube videos. My own personal favourite is 'Ook? Video Ook!' Another one I use is 'Fast Video Download'.

you need to have Firefox with an App called Live Http Headers then you run Http headers download the video from Youtube Myspace, or wherever then you save to computer run the Video through the Flv Converter then you may do as you wish with the Video File
