I'm 37 and 5"4 and we are towards the top end of our healthy height / weight ratio.
For our height we should weigh around 121 pounds to 145 pounds. That's not an exact amount, just a rough guide.
My darling girl, you are one year older than my daughter who is 11 and worried about her weight. She is so beautiful it's not funny and she is going through puberty and all those things just like you would be now so your weight goes up and down at your age and it will go on for a lot longer yet.
When I was your age and older, puberty hit me so hard that I ended up with boobs like dolly parton.
Over time my body all matched up and got in proportion once puberty settled down.
In all my 37 years of life I have never had anyone call me fat.
And I weighted and measured the same as you.
As you get older in life you learn to love yourself just the way you are.
Don't suicide.
That would be for nothing.
Cut back any junk food, soda, those kind of things to once a week. Do a bit of sport and the rest will take care of yourself.
If I was your Mum and you were my daughter, I'd set you an exercise and it would be every morning for the next week look in the mirror and say to yourself, I'm beautiful, I'm smart and I love me.
She probably wouldn't do it you know because she'd get all embarassed.....
She'd have a cry and feel a bit better afterwards.
So you pretend that I'm your favourite Aunt.
And I'm setting that exercise for you.
And before I go, I just want to say.
Honey, you're perfect just the way you are!!!!

It sound like you are just fine. There is no set weight to height chart that can tell people how God made them. So get that out of your head, we are all different shapes and sizes. I'm 5'8" and 195 but I'm all muscle, when I was 155 (which is what the chart says I should be) I was all bones. So make sure you to some kind of exercises at least 30 min a day and watch your eating habits. Drink lots of water. And remember that you have the greatest any person could ever receive, you woke up this morning. Love yourself.

first of all what is going on in your life that at 12 you are worried about weight and suicide. you should be enjoying your childhood. go out and play. if you are seriously thinking about doing this talk to a counselor or someone you can trust about why you are thinking of killing yourself.your weight will change soooo much in the next few years. sooner or later you're going to want to gain weight because you are too small.

Stop being so hard on yourself! What's more important than how much you weigh is what that weight is composed of! Some of us have big bones and are muscular. Muscle weighs more than fat but the scale can't tell the difference. I mean, c'mon, maybe you can easily lift a 40 lbs. sack of dog food. If so, you might be over-muscled and not FAT.
I have been muscular all my life and wrecked my metabolism trying to be "thin" when I wasn't really fat, I was just muscular.
They have places that do body fat analysis and can tell you what % of your body is fat. Look into getting one of those done then concentrate on reducing the fat % and not just losing pounds because the pounds you lose could be muscle.

it's not really bad but you should lose a few lbs all you have to do is cut down on your fat intake... it's not bad I've been doing it for 2 weeks now and lost 8 lbs.. I've been eating small meals everytime I'm hungry. Healthy foods like broccoli, salad, apples, turkey sandwiches on wheat bread, and chicken.. good luck! Don't kill yourself b/c of weight it's easy to lose if you incorporate a little exercise too you'll be skinny in no time!

I am the same amount, same age, same height! You should just relax, eat healthy, and at least play for an hour a day. One hard thing for me is I am a vegetarian. I think I am over-weight, but all the other kids in my class are skinny. I think we are over weight, and 100 lbs is fine.

calm down. you are in a healthy weight range. But you should get some counseling about the whole suicide thing. My son is 5 foot and is 144 pounds and a little overweight.

Don't joke about suicide that's not cool.
Try getting active and maybe watch what you eat a bit - I mean drop choco bars and ice cream is all. It may be hard to start jogging but if you stick with it you will improve quickly (in terms of distance/time) and you'll feel good about it.

Honey you still are going to grow taller. You just need to eat healthy and stay active. Minimize fast food consumption, that really helps. 140 pounds at 5'4" is not horrible. Please don't consider suicide. Talk with a trusted adult or your parents if you feel you can.

i'm 5' and weigh 150 at the age of 17. since i havent grown since 5th grade, i've been 5' and 150 since the age of 10. you're fine. don't "suicide" over your weight. and since you're still growing and going through puberty and all, you'll fill out and grow curves and you'll look fine, just make sure you don't eat complete crap and take your multivitamins.
