No.
However, Catholics believe that he is the Supreme Pontiff, or that is, the ultimate teacher and the last word when it comes to Christian Faith, Dogma, and Morals. "Pope" is from the greek "popas" which simply means "Father."

No, the Pope is a man just like you and me. All men are created equal in God's eyes and all men sin and fall short of the grace of God.
The Pope does not communicate directly with God, no one does other than by prayer.
If you believe the Pope is "directly" connected to God, please send the Bible scripture that backs that up.
The Bible states that Christ is the head of the church, not the Pope.

There are probably lots of people who are closer to God than the Pope. I, however, am probably not one of them. I cannot say anything about you.
God, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, influenced the cardinals to select the man who is now Pope.
This selection means that God thinks that he is the right man for the job at this time, not that he is perfect or sinless or even in perfect relationship with God.
The Pope is the senior pastor of 1.1 billion Catholics, the direct successor of Simon Peter.
With love in Christ.

I don't personally know either you or the current Pope (not any past ones either), so it would be real hard to try to make a call on this question - If both of you have accepted Christ as your lord and savior, then both of you are as close to God as I am.

The Pope is a child of God, just like you and me.
If he prays then he will get closer to God, as will everybody else.
His relationship with his Heavenly Father is only his business, and nobody else's.
He believes he gets inspiration for all the Catholics on the earth, but he's NOT a prophet - I know a man who IS though, and HE does speak directly to God.

The Pope exists. God does not. Any relationship between anyone and God is imaginary.
