I don't know who said that but I don't think it's true. If they are in Heaven they would be praising God along with walking the streets of gold and see the mansions there. Those relatives would be too busy to be looking down at anyone on earth. I don't know what my dead relatives are up to since I'm on earth and if they are in Heaven then they are having a good time there.

No one is in heaven all the dead are awaiting the ressurection.

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

do you believe that dribble , according to the bible when we die we are in the ground asleep awaiting the call of god ,people say people are in heaven because in a timeless perspective there next conscious thought will be the Resurrection , logically think of a spirit in terms of created methods and parameters graced upon them , a human being requires a processing system in this method of time , without a brain we do not function , spirits are usually that link , not knowing the theology fallen angels or demons do present themselves as the deceased to replace a theology in a god , but if there is a spiritual world there has to be a process to police it , or life after death literally would be a hell .

Dammit. I'm 41 years old, and every time another relative dies, I STILL go through that squirmy period where I picture them watching me bent over the bed or doing other unseemly (albeit legal) things.

This idea used to totally freak me out as a kid. I mean really freak me out. That's why even though I'm an atheist now, it still rather haunts me.

Doesn't stop me though *wink*

But back in the day, this is how I talked myself out of it - if heaven exists, then people are NOT looking down. Because they'd see bad things! And if heaven is perfect, then how can they see bad things. Worked for me.

Why believe the 'they's' of this world, because each 'they' is different anyway.
The only reliable source is God Himself. He is infinite, and knows ALL things!
