What did death look like before life? To me like eternal nothingness. I think that death after life will be just the same.
My body was made of matter and energy coming from the ground and air, and that's where it will return. My soul will live on though my children and the way I influence my environment. I think there's nothing more to it than that.

It depends on what you believe. The body, one way or another goes back to the earth. The spirit may travel elsewhere. I believe in re-incarnation and can remember bits and pieces of past lives. With a brief rest after this life to reflect on the good and bad. Then on to the next for more lessons. If you are a Christian, it is Heaven or Hell. No one knows for sure what happens until it happens. It is a matter of personal beliefs until that time.

No one knows for sure what happens when person dies, but absolutely EVERYONE will find an answer one day.
You, I and whoever else is reading it will join the club too, so have patience.
Instead of asking what happens after death, I think it would be best to focus on what can you do in life and how will you be remembered instead of thinking what will happen to you after death.

Why must there be life after death. There is no life after death, death is the end. People who are about to die scream because they do not want to stop living.

You are right. There is an afterlife. And in this life we must prepare for it. It's good that you thimk about these things. Wher you spend eternity depends on your relationship with our Creator. As a C hristian I believe that your place in eternity depends on whether you have placed your faith in Christ's atoning death at the cross

I am LDS (mormon) and we believe a person's spirit goes to either spirit prison or spirit paradise, depending on their righteousness during this life. Then all will await the millenium and final judgement...after that, all will go to a kingdom or degree of glory - Celestial, the highest, Terrestrial or Telestial.
There is more to it, but that's the basic.

Well, we can't say for sure that people "see" anyone before they die, and that it causes them to scream or anything like that. But, as a Christian, I believe that after death our souls will be judged by God according to His word, and once judged we will either go to Heaven or Hell for EVERRRRRRRRR

The soul and spirit go to either Heaven or Hell. The body decays in the ground. One day a new body will reunite with our soul and spirit. We will be with God on earth, or cast in the Lake of Fire.

Well - if you believe there is life after death, and you are wrong, no one will be able to say I told you so, and if there is karma for your mistakes, then you wont have to pay for the ones you were able to avoid.
