I think you're right, because if free will is a gift, and hell is a possible outcome, then I'm not very happy with that gift.

it is because you are looking at it from a Christian point of view, not standing back and looking at all the religions as a whole. No other religion, other than those who believe in one God, which were formed after Christianity, has anything about torture in the afterlife. Only religions like Christianity have "punishments in the afterlife" because they want people to conform to their religious ideas, therefore giving those in power of the Church, power over the masses. In other religions, namely Satanism (NOT devil worship, huge difference) as Satan does not help, nor does he harm those who are without (Satan). So, there is free will, and the Christian ideas are disproven right there, based on the fact that their "God gave free will" yet if you don't do as he says, your damned to purgatory for all of eternity. A bit ironic, don't you think?

No matter what anyone tells u, the only way to go to hell is if ur the scum of the earth (ie: rapists, terrorists, murderers, etc.)... everyone else goes to purgatory or strait to heaven. Honestly, do u call living a moral life a glass box that's unhealthy?

Obviously, the punishments help us to learn to make better decisions. Does free will mean I'm free to burn your house down? Of course not! My parents punished me for playing with matches and I learned my lesson. Now, your house is safe from me. Get it? Everyone must learn how to behave in a manner acceptable to the rules of their own civilization. It's far more unhealthy to allow your mind delude itself with such superficial word games

Do you think parents give children free will when they are older, at least to a certain extent? Do you give that child rules to follow and tell them the consequences of breaking those rules? If they choose to break the rules, they have brought punishment upon themselves, right? It is the same with God. You get to make your own choices (free will), but there are consequences for disobedience (sin).

Not sure what you're asking, but ...

I have free will to buy whatever I can ... doesn't mean the products are free to me.

Perhaps you're mistaking freedom for license.

Another example. I'm free to drive down the street. But, it's illegal if I drive on the wrong side of the road. But that doesn't affect my freedom to drive down the street.

Only babies get everything they want. LOL

“Behave like free men, and never use your freedom as an excuse for wickedness.” (1 Peter 2:16, JB) God wants free will to be regulated for the common good. He purposed for us to have, not total freedom, but relative freedom, subject to the rule of law, not overstepping others.'

A free will is so you can take responsibility for your own actions. There are rewards and punishments you get to choose which you are going to get.

You have freedom to choose life or death, good or bad,but before you make the choice, you need to know the consequences of each.

Come on,this is a lame argument you thought of.

if you choose to stick a nail in your eye you'll go blind. no one's fault but your own. Bad choices produce bad outcomes, God gives you guidelines to help keep you outta trouble, and who wants to be a robot? no free will I mean.just because I can do something doesn't necessarily mean it's good or healthy thing to do
