So they would rather believe something like the da vinci code based solely on the virtue that it agrees with their anti-Christian views, even though there is actually less historical evidence for the da vinci code than the events in the new testament. If something discredits Christianity, then it must be right, but it's wrong if it supports it.

Many people would rather believe a lie than the truth of God's word. If they admitted the Bible is true, they would also have to admit they are sinful.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from all truth, and be turned aside to fables."--2 Tim. 4:3-4

I am not a Christian, nor am I a Christian hater, but I think both of the books you mentioned are fiction! The Bible contains just bits and pieces that may have a basis in fact, history, but have been exaggerated and changed over the years. It was written to depict a very small part of the world with no knowledge of what the world would be in this day and age. Oh I am sure that there is some scripture that one could bend and re-interpret (what is another interpretation going to matter) to include the current world situation, but I will not buy into that either!

Simply because they are not grounded (have an well read background) in the Bible, and what it really tells us about every possible subject, like the Da Vinci Code!
Some people don't believe in the virgin birth of Christ even though it clearly states that Jesus was born of a virgin named Mary, in the Four Gospels, and Isaiah 9 speaks of the Messiah who would come, born of a virgin!!!
You answered your own question very well I thought.

Given that you are a christian, then how in the world do you feel that you have any basis whatsoever to determine what historical evidence is valid and what is dreamed up by people like you? Who in his right mind would take your word for it that certain historical claims are valid or not? You talk about what is fiction and what is not. Basically, your fiction is somehow better than that of others? I see. It must be right if the bible says it, even if you have no idea what it is, or what it really means.

You pretty much nailed it (no pun intended). The Da Vinci Code had it all, corrupt church officials bent on maintaining the male dominated priesthood, Jesus as just a man who also had a wife. Then it also tied together all the other various conspiracies into one nice neat bundle.

Where is all this "anti-" and "hate" talk coming from?

Someone doesn't agree with Christian views, so automatically they hate Christians?

Why would you believe in a book that says that rain didn't come from the sky until after the great flood, yet not believe in something logical like procreation?
