KInd of weird that one of the sailors said the following becuase how could he not recognize his fellow soldiers voice?
"We had a blindfold and plastic cuffs, hands behind our backs, heads against the wall. ... There were weapons cocking," Tindell told British Broadcasting Corp. radio. "Someone said, I quote: 'Lads, lads, I think we're going to get executed.' ... Someone was sick and as far as I was concerned he had just had his throat cut."
Who was this mysterious someone and how come that someone did not say I thought someome was sick and had his cut throat? Sounds like some bs to me. Were they going to cut throats or shoot? Which one is it? Get your stories straight laddies.

lol Athanasia. What she wrote home was true. She came home and was fed well and dressed well. Jakass.
Dear Mum & Dad
I am writing to you from Iran where I am being held. I will try to explain to you the best what has happened.
We were out in the boats when we were arrested by Iranian forces as we had apparently gone into Iranian waters. I wish we hadn't because then I'd be home with you all right now. I am so sorry we did, because I know we wouldn't be here now if we hadn't.
I want you all to know that I am well and safe. I am being well looked after. I am fed 3 meals a day and have a constant supply of fluids.
The people are friendly and hospitable, very compassionate and warm. I have written a letter to the Iranian people to apologise for us entering into their waters.
Please don't worry about me, I am staying strong. Hopefully it won't be long until I am home to get ready for Molly's birthday party with a present from the Iranian people.
Look after everyon

These are British soldiers. They consider it cruel and unusual punishment if they don't get tea and crumpets.
What they describe as "harsh interrogation" is baby stuff, nothing compared to Gitmo or Abu Graib, nothing compared to what the CIA regularly does to illegally captured "persons of interest".
Just look at the picture of Arthur Batchelor in the link in that other post. That guy wouldn't last a minute in a regular American prison.
Iran is playing a smart political game. Even the British are apparently questioning the conflicting stories coming from the sailors.

First I would look at the statement of the sailor saying that "We had a blindfold and plastic cuffs, hands behind our backs, heads against the wall...."
That right there is a classic example of psychology in terrorism working. Keeping the "victim" in the dark, and it would not be difficult to follow a classic line where someone not in the group of victims to actually say such things... which will make the minds of the victims wonder and worry, increasing the stress levels. Also, without visual confirmation, the sounds of a person throwing up and a person with a throat cut can sound similar, even more so in the situation where the mind can easily jump to such conclusions without the visual information to back up or contradict the auditory information.
Good luck

Terror is just that. This is a prime example of using terror tactics to evoke a response you want. The Iranian government succeeded in being belligerent and making Britain look weak. Now the people are home safe and being condemned for getting away safe. You or anyone else would have done the same if they were in the same situation. If you was never blindfolded and the sound of a gun clicking to let you know you was going to be shot, don't condemn.

You have no idea what it's like to be in that situation. You don't know about the mind games or how long you're going to be there of if your government is going to try to resolve the issue in a timely manner or if they're going to be stubborn and not budge.
Regardless of what happened, how dare you suggest something like that. Who's to say that a weapon was ****** and one of them tried to fight and he throat was slashed. These people were blidfolded and I'm sure they had thoughts like that going through their minds. They were separated for 4 days first.
You have no idea what their situation was like. At least we know that diplomacy worked and the soldiers are back home. I wonder what would've happened if they had captured Americans?

Yeah - I can't imagine being in a life or death situation and still thinking it was possible for the captors to be carrying a gun AND a knife - how stupid of them! Where would they have room for all those weapons...I mean..really!!
This was a rediculous question - stop criticizing people you know nothing about!

I think they had guns to their heads- in Iran. I'm NOT as sure that they were in Iraqi waters... But then, that's "no mans land" for anyone anyway... -So they could've been asking for trouble.

I am 100% certain that they were coerced. 100% certain, and the statements of the Brits are proving it.
