Hydrogen peroxide used for wounds will kill your hair and your scalp will burn and itch and dry out. How I know that is that I have spilled some on my skin when cleaning a wound. It is way too harsh for hair and will dammage it beyond repair.

Peroxide used for hair color is a different product, a different concentration. It should only be used by someone who knows what they are doing.

Red is the most difficult color to remove. Most people who use over the counter kits to go blond end up red.

Go to a professional if you really want this. Be prepared to deal with roots in 2-4 weeks because when you have a drastic difference, even 1/4 inch is obvious.
Hair grows 1/2 inch a month on average.

An alternate idea is have a professional put blond highlights all over and then when it grows out it will blend. You then renew the highlights every few months.

Peroxide Is The "Active" Ingredient In Haircolorings And Bleaches That Lightens The Hair. Used Alone, It Is NOT An Effective Lightner And Tends To Damage The Hair As it Lightens. The Ingredients In Haircolors And Bleaches "Activates" The Peroxide AND Controls And "Buffers" The Lightening Action - As Any Good Hairdresser Can Tell You It Is Not Made To Be Used Alone.
