I mean everyone makes mistakes and has their own flaws, why can't people just except people for who they are and not critisize so much?

I think people who easily judge do so because they are unaware of their own flaws. They are often very negative people who love to keep breeding negativity around them. Don't focus your thoughts on this aspect of them. I personally think people who act that way feel better by your response to them. Just brush their energy off your shoulder.

-Maybe they were harshly judged before. Smile!
-Well, it is always much more easy to see other mistakes than ours. And some people may feel superior than others if they can point out others' flaws. Smile! But it may not lead a happy life for themselves and others.
- Happiness is accepting others as they are and helping each other to become a better person in a peaceful way.

In American culture, it stems from "egocentricity," meaning that most people are taught to be selfish, and lack the ability or inclination to try to see any point of view other than their own, (the ideal of individual over society is very American...and often friends and family of the "Individual" suffer.)

They judge themselves based on internal knowledge (how they feel, think and learn, but judge others on grossly incomplete "external" knowledge (what they see with their eyes and hear from other "egocentric" people,) but different cultures have different ideas about what is "not great, but I can overlook it." For example, in the U.S. if you know that an adult is having sexual relations with a 12 year old, no one would think you were being judgmental if you called the police or even caused the adult in question bodily harm to protect the child, however, in Bali and some eastern countries it is considered normal for a parent to stimulate a child sexually, or indeed have intercourse with them, to calm them as infants, or initiate them into adult life.
Do you think we should offended by that?

It is just human nature to talk about others and make judgements. You know that saying that some of us can see the speck in another's eyes and not see the huge log in our own. Some people judge others to feel better about themselves. All of us have made mistakes and hurt others.
The important thing is to try to remember this before we
open our mouth and become judge and jurors.

People are often very self critical as well. They generally will only point out short commings of their own that are not embarassing yet embarass others. Being critical is human nature.
Some people "act out" and others keep it burried deeply within themselves and create outlets. You know, like a priest for example. He never gets married so instead he fondels children.

I would rather him be blatently corrupt, a thief,a bigot, even a killer as long as he leaves the kids alone.
so really it's not such a bad thing being critical.
There are lots of things that are worse to be.

Because most people are too 'self centered' to even 'think about what they are saying' about other people. There are those of us who are not 'quick to judge' ... and I 'love it' when I can pay a 'compliment' to a Goth on an item of clothing ... I'm 56 years old, but I'm 'Goth' inside ... GO OLD FOLKS! GO KIDS! It's 'everyone else in between that 'has me worried.' Okay, I'm kidding ... but you 'get the picture' don't you?

making judgment or criticizing another in a vindictive matter shows the insecurity and low self esteem the individual has within him/herself.
When this person becomes self secure and learn to love themselves, they will be able to accept another for the flaws we all have.

i think ppl critisize other ppl as a way to express their own imperfections. it makes them feel better about themselves when they hear about other ppl doing the things that they have done but never been caught at. i once made fun of a guy for getting a dui. called him a dumb *** and other things. 3 months later i got a dui. wasn't so funny then.

Because too many people come on here and cannot spell basic English, nor ask a proper question of intelligent quality and only show their total ignorance of the entire world around them.
