I normally don't eat sweets of any kind, I just never cared for them . The last week I can not stop craving sweets and protien. It's crazy! I find myself just wanting to eat spoonfuls of peanut butter, cans of plain tuna, and I can get a pack of gum and want to chew the whole pack. Nothing in my life has changed as far as I know ,so what the heck is going on?

Cravings could mean a lot of things.
The most classic is pregnancy...I just gave birth to a baby boy and I craved spoonfuls of peanut butter right from the jar, and onion rings, and baby carrots my whole pregnancy.
Cravings could also indicate a lack of something in your diet - based on the peanut butter & tuna fish, I'd say maybe protein and/or salt or something else.
PMS also comes with cravings for some women.
Or your tastes could just be changing. When I quit smoking my tastes changed entirely and I started craving foods that I previously couldn't stand.
Try to listen to your body, it's probably telling you something.

Your 'body' is 'speaking to you' ... and I'd 'watch' the 'gum' (use 'sugar free' if possible) and don't worry about the 'spoonfuls of peanut butter' and 'cans of plain tuna' ... when your body is 'satisfied' that it has what you 'need' your cravings will 'go away' naturally. I'm betting that your life has 'changed' in some way, even though it may not be 'noticeable' to you at this point ... TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF but 'don't worry' because you have these 'weird cravings' ...

It could be your monthly cycle. Alot of girls/women get cravings right before. If you're having sex, then it's time to go and get a pregnancy test. That should help.

If you're a teen, your cravings change too. Don't worry about it-it's a part of growing up. BUT--if you're not a teen anymore, I guess it's just your cycle.

Could you be pregnant?

If not, I've heard that cravings can be your body's way of telling you what your diet is lacking.
