Jesus died for our sins is what I always hear. I need him in my heart to wash my sins away. Beautiful.

Jesus died, and went to Hell for a few days. In those days he obviously had the ability to beat Satan, once and for all.

If a person has the ability to beat Evil (and as we all know, Satan is pure evil), but chooses not to defeat Evil... Isn't that the biggest sin anybody could ever do?

And these days we celebrate that Jesus didn't defeat Satan? We are a weird bunch of people, really.

Yes, in addition to that, he's also a bonafide liar. Since when have you known a xtian to move a mountain just by telling it to do so? How many christians are willing to drink poison? As a matter of fact, wasn't the rapture supposed to happen two thousand years ago? Those are some big promises/lies to live up to, but seeing as to how he's dead, I guess he can't live up to them.

But to be honest, the only reason Jesus is the biggest sinner of all is because we can't blame god for creating evil in the first place. It was his plan for us to go to hell and roast for eternity. Didn't you know, god loves the aroma of burning flesh. And he loves killing people. Hey christian, one day he's going to kill you too.

Better hope it isn't when you're having an impure thought (Jesus says that's just as bad). Better start plucking your eyes out and cutting off your hands. Hope you already got rid of your genitals, we know they cause you to sin (remember, the thought counts too). The rapture could come at any moment! It may happen right now as you read this post!

According to the manuscripts, after a great war that satan started, God defeated him.
Satan was judged then, and sentenced to death. As for those souls who followed him, God could have destroyed the whole bunch right there and then including satan, but he didn't. Why? Because instead, God decided to destroy that age that was, and bring in this one, the flesh age. This age is for each soul to make a decision on who they would ultimately follow. Thats fair.
The thing is, for this plan to work, two things have to be true:
1. free will must be truly free choice, with-out the interference of God in it.
2. You have to have a comparitor. What good would it be to have you make a decision between good and good? Satan is being used for exactly that - a comparitor.
After Christ returns, and after a 1000 yr. period of teaching and disipline, the judgement occurs. At that time, satan will be destroyed (turned to ashes from within) along with all those who don't make it.

I cannot believe that you honestly think that satan is still around because Jesus couldn't get him cornered somewhere? Thats the funniest thing i have ever heard.........
You are soooo cute, I could hug you....

If Jesus had beaten Satan, that would have taken away the punishment of hell; which is for people who suck. If there was no hell, and we knew this, then could u imagine what the world would be like? Look at all the crime and corruption that goes on... take away hell and u could times that by 100. Look at it this way, hell exists as a result of our free will. If there was no hell, then there would be no punishment for the unmoral decisions & actions people make & do.

Your question is reasonable but you need to read further. His death and resurrection was to defeat death and provide a way for the restoration of fellowship between God and all of man, as mentioned by someone earlier. Evil has no power over us anymore unless you give it power over you. God does test to see who honors Him in their life. Look throughout the old testament for examples of this. Job, the children of Israel (Lev 8:3) are a few examples. We are on schedule going by the timetable laid out in scripture many years ago. Biblical prophecy is how you determine where we are in God's schedule.

Evil will be put away later as explained in Revelations. This short period (relative to God) of time we are in now is the chance for all of mankind to repent. Some will - some won't. As you can see, prophecy in scripture is being fulfilled quickly now so who knows when this time of grace will end.

Believe me, Satan has no power whatsoever.

Ah. & then, two thousand years of waiting for the Messiah, & still persistent. Science & religion have been oil & water since day one, arch-ememies, unmixable. I wonder does anyone know that "Shaitan" is Islamic, means "adversary,' i.e., God's adversary, & is the root of the English word "Satan?" I digress. Let's not blame Jesus...if God created everything, then God created evil--& the epitomy of evil is Satan. (So I hear.) Then God sacrificed his "son" to "wash away" the evil of sinning humans (whom he also created) who continue to sin anyway. It seems to me, that in some minds, Satan is equally as powerful as God. Yet God is all powerful & loving. Personally, I think "Satan" is a scapegoat, a tempter who entices us to be HUMAN, thus, SINNERS. but, I would have to say, in this scenario, (unacceptable to me) it was not the task of Jesus to defeat Satan.

You can dive into that theology at any point and surface with fistfulls of absurdities. Why does "evil" exist at all? How can man have "free will" if God is omniscient and omnipotent? How can any being, angel or man, "rebel" against such a God? Why did the God of the OT require regular blood sacrifices, and how is it that this need was obviated by the blood of His own Son? What sort of a demon IS this that the Christians call "God"?

satan is in hell. if you ask me, that is defeated. God allows satan to tempt humans because He wants us to choose to love Him. if we had no choice, if there was no satan, we would simply be robots who had to serve God. i don't know about you, but i want people to choose to love me. God's the same way. in the end times, after the thousand year reign God even looses satan for a time to let those born after armagedon a chance to make a choice. it's all about God giving us a free will.

No, Jesus is not sinner. He has done what He has promised. He will complete Hiswork in His own timing.

God has defeated the evil, remember Sodom...remember what happened Noah's time. God is totally capable of destroying evil.

The fact that God has not already destroyed devil does not mean that He will not, because He will. Satan has power over your life ONLY if you allow that.

I guess because without evil there isn't good, or something like that. Also because someone wrote it and still needed to explain why there is still evil in the world and keep people praying.
