It's certainly a possibility, however like the person above me said, it's more likely the stuff put into the beef, or the feed given to the animal prior to. It's not unheard of. Here is a web site to help understand your allergy. http://www.healthboards.com/boards/archive/index.php/t-12034.html
these are all people with meat based allergies ( alot of them being beef) - if you are really concerned then talk to your doctor. There are numerous tests that can be done to test for allergies and you can find out once and for all.... It wouldn't hurt to just consult your doctor. - good luck!

I had the same question. For many years my lips would blister if I ate any beef that wasn't very well done. I had no idea why or what exactly was the cause. Then one day it just stopped. Can't tell you what that was all about - but having a reaction to beef is something that happens to some people and can change over time.

You can be allergic to anything-including beef. If you are having symptoms and want confirmation ask your doctor for a RAST test (its a blood test that will indicate an immune response to beef). Although not 100% accurate it will let you know if there is something to worry about.

It's entirely possible, but it's also possible that you could be allergic to what is going into the beef (hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, etc.) Before you conclude that it is simply beef, try other types like grass-fed beef (assuming you are currently eating corn-fed beef). 100% Grass-fed beef is healthier, cooks in less time, and is a little more expensive. What are your symptoms?
Also, don't be fooled, a lot of corn-fed beef is grass-fed during their last year...this doesn't count. The reasoning for why corn-fed beef is unhealthy: corn, being a cheap and heavily subsidized food, is easy to distribute to the cows on feed lots (which are very filthy). Corn is acidic, which promotes disease. As a result, corn-fed cows are more reliant on hormones and anti-biotics, especially if they live in a crowded feed lot, where they are walking on their own feces. Grass, on the other hand, promotes less acidic beef. Feeding on grass involves grazing, which is a much healthier (but more expensive) condition for the cow.

I've heard of beef or pork allergies. Personally, I am allergic to poultry--chicken and turkey.
