I think Iran took those British Sailors as an insurance policy "just in case" the American military exercises going on in the gulf got a little too close for comfort.

Instead of the world press reporting on the superior Naval power of the US, (which is fact), the story became reminding Americans of how Iran brought down a President without any show of military strength.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may be whacked, but either he, or his advisers, have complete working knowledge of how to play to stay relevant on the world stage.

Lol, you just love to trust the enemy before your own family. First of all Iranians haev a long history of not treating prisoners well. Why would they have any reason to lie? They were taken in Iraqi waters which is proven both by arial photographs and GPS coordinates. They were obviousely being coached during the video they shot while in Tehran. Who cares about your disbelief, thats because you believe the liberal media and dont follow whats actually happening.

I certainly DO believe it.

As a SERE School graduate who was zip-tied, handcuffed, and blindfolded... and then stripped naked and force to stand in a snow storm for an hour. I was even beaten (1986).

So I'll take the word of two gentlemen commissioned by the Queen, and the others at the press conference.

And as the Brit serviceman HERE said... GO SLOT YOURSELF.

Beleive what you want its your god given right to. But keep your sorry a** opinion about what the troops are going though over there. To yourself the war be it right or wrong is no picnic and s*** happens more then you'll ever be told or know. I salute every serving member of every country involved in that conflict. I hope it ends soon and those serving will return home safe and sound.

If you don't believe it, then you have NO idea of what's going on in the world. You must admire those inbred rag heads in Iran. That's JUST the game they play. And you're right....you CAN be made to say anything...to stay alive. Get your head outta you hind parts and wake up.

Maybe you really dont know if you were lied to, or you were told that by another political party. I cant find where any real proof about anything the Dems say. If they put themselves up against the republicans they would not be behind as usual.

And i bealive what they say anyway that sounds exactly like what iran would do. Why dont you ask people that were held hostage in the crisis that happend when carter was in office. see what they say. Maybe then you can convince yourself that torture does not exist....Abu Garab comes to mind as a tale of fiction.
And does all of this make you self righteously feel better?
