Absolutely!

Both parties are over 18 and it's consensual, so why not?

The only thing is, you may notice a generation gap. I've dated men 13 years my senior and there were times when I just couldn't understand his nostalgia for Oingo Boingo and they'd shake their heads when I told them that I had a New Kids on the Block pillowcase. There's also the whole party thing. Men in their 40s may appreciate fine things like wine, but women in their 20s could still be appreciating partying... And of course there's conversation. It's awkward sometimes hearing about how you experienced the fall of the Berlin wall whereas I was just born. Get my gist?

On the upside, however, it could be a very exciting and fitting time for both. I once dated a man on the brink of turning 40 who knew exactly how to treat a woman - thanks to his life experiences! Talk about setting a bar. :) A woman in her 20s can also feel quite nurtured by an older man. He's mature, generally more patient, and have a whole bunch of wisdom that a gal can admire him for. I also hear that younger women are less likely to be pushy for marriage so soon because their biological clocks aren't ticking so loud.

So, no, I don't think there's anything wrong with a young woman dating an older man, even if society looks at this as weird.

i do no longer think of it is an argument of suited or incorrect. A 24 year previous lady is grown and able to make her very own judgements. i think of it is greater an argument of compatibility, merely like a relationship with human beings of a similar age. whether, with a 24 year age hollow, there may be generational hollow themes, to no longer point out the actuality that a 24 year previous is merely initiating her person existence at a similar time as the 40 8 year previous has already lived an entire life. additionally, i could heavily question the 40 8 year previous guy's motivation for desiring a romantic relationship with somebody youthful sufficient to be his daughter.

Go for it old timer. How often are you going to get the chance to step back in time and grab a piece of what you missed out the first time around? Check an ID to be on the safe side. Better safe than doing hard time in the greybar motel. If she calls you Dad, I'd bail on the relationship. That would be wrong and weird. Otherwise, start hammering the Redbull for energy, you going to need it.

If it feels strange to you, then don't go for it. There are many reasons why this could be happening. Just to name a few:

You are very physically attractive; your personality intrigues them; they think you're financially able to provide for them; they are looking for a "father" figure but don't know it (or maybe they do!)...the list goes on. I suppose you could just take it as a real compliment, though!

I don't think that age should matter if two people are of legal age and have things in common. Just use your gut instincts to guide you in the situation.

First I assume your not married or going with someone. But it's not uncommon for a young girl to want an older and mature man, as most guys their age are unstable. Only thing is if you fall in love and want to marry a young lady, she will someday most likely want children. If you don't mind that then I see no problem with it.

YES, I am 40 now, and am currently dating a girl who is 19. To make a long story short, we started out just talking as friends for months. Now we have dated for a few months, she has spent the night several nights, and her family is OK with the two of us together.

Your distancing yourself is probably why they are friendly. They may believe you to be retarded or gay since you're on here instead of in their pants. Anyways, you may find they back off once you try any moves because they like you for that. Does "old fashioned" mean you only like old ladies?

Well if some hard bodied 20 year old took her clothes off and jumped on you, would you turn her down? I'm 41 and if that happened to me I would think Santa Claus was in town!
