Sad to say so but no, it won't go away. I had both of my kids via C, gained an appropriate amount of weight during both of my pregnancies so I never expected the "excess" skin to hang in there! I am super super skinny, I weigh 105 lbs. (I am 5'4) and I exercise religiously every day, wear a size 0 clothing and the skin is still there! My doctor said that it is due to scar tissue and the only way to get rid of it is via surgery - no way! My abs are super flat and yet I have to live with the mini bulge! So, no matter how much weight you lose, how much you exercise, it will be with you always. We are all part of the C-belly club - welcome!

Its the extra skin from your belly stretching during the 9 months! It will contract SOME but probably not much. Give it some time. That post-baby weight loss is long and tedious. I'm at 9 months post-vaginal birth and I have lost 20 lbs in the last 3 months(I got a trainer and have been working out 5 days a week cardio/weights/Pilates).
I look forward to having the rest of the kids my husband and I want(2 or 3 more) and getting a tummy tuck.
Good Luck!

I have asked the same question since I have the same problem. Its been called the c section "apron". I have had mine for 6 years as of the 10th of this month and it has shown no signs of leaving.
Apparently, its caused by the surgery and can only be fully corrected with surgery. Some women have them, some don't. Being thin helps, but ....
I am editing to mention that I never had the "apron" after my first two kids. I also gained more weight with them than I did with my youngest. The "apron" appeared after the birth of my youngest child, who was the only c section. So, no, its not just from having a baby, its definately from the surgery.

Some women, even those who haven't had c-sections have this. It is caused by the skin stretching while pregnant. For some, it never goes away completely. There is good news, though! You just had your baby 3.5 months ago, so probably is not fully done healing and firming up! It usually takes atleast 9 months for your body to return to pre-baby-(unless you are a celebrity, then you only get 4 weeks!) So, don't freak out yet, eat healthy and keep excersising, the rest is up to your genes!!!

I have the same thing from c-section. I would say it looks slightly less pronounced after a few more months, some exercise and diet. My advice is to be proud of it: Now you have a wonderful healthy baby and who cares if your body changes a little. maybe some new pants are in order. after a couple of years if you are still unhappy, you could consider having a tummy tuck: surgery for those of use who don't like our c section bodies. personally, I just bought new pants and I have a great life and my husband doesn't care one hoot.

My daughter is 11 on Saturday and she is the only one I had a c-section with and the skin hanging over the scar does not go away. In my experience no matter how much I exercised and how much weight I lost I could never get rid of that. It stinks to have it. Trust me I know. Just remember why you have it and it makes it a little easier to tolerate. :)

I had a C-section three years ago,I don't know if breastfeeding played a part in it but my pouch went away about six months after I had my son. It could also depend on where the cut was done usually when the doc. cuts muscle you don't get that back and that could keep you from toning that area . My cut was very low.

This won't go away. This happens to most any woman who has given birth. It happens because your stomach is required to stretch so much as the baby grows in your uterus. The only way to get rid of this extra skin is to have a tummy tuck.

I can't answer that but I will be checking back in because I am due to have my twins by C-section. I know my sister had three and has never been able to get rid of it. Good luck

Honestly, it does not go away without surgery. It may get a little better, since the weight usually takes longer than 3.5 months to come off.
