My computer freezes all the time now before I can even get into windows. It freezes at the same loading screen every time I turn it on. I was thinking that it could be a hardware problem or maybe a virus. If someone knows the problems, please tell me.

Well you can do one thing. Try hitting F8 when u boot the computer and enter through safe mode and check whether you are able to logon to windows by this method.

If the problem still exist then if you have the windows installation CD with you. then as soon as you switch on the computer u have a screen comming up with company name and all that stuff as soon as u switch it on, then press F2 or Del depends on the BIOS , check on the screen whether its F2 or Del to enter BIOS . Once you enter the BIOS u will have an option for BOOT, you need to do navigate through pages to find that option in th BIOS and then set the Booting order from HDD to DVD ROM or CD ROM based on your configuration and hit F10 to save and exit. Now place the Windows CD in the CD ROM and try to boot the computer through the CD.

You get lot of options then hit R to repair so that you wont loose your data and hopefully logon to windows.

Hope this information helps you.

If your computer freezes when you turn it on, it may be that you're adjusting the thermostat on your refrigerator. As for not being able to get into windows, maybe you should try the door. It works for me.
P.S., if you have a virus, you could see a doctor but usually you just have to ride those things out.

you may have to get another hard drive...make the new one master...and the old one slave....and then once it comes on....then you can actually copy all the data on the "bum" harddrive and copy it to a disk...... good luck....tell me how the chicken fries...
