Fishing is my greatest passion. All I can think of is fishing. All i watch on t.v. is fishing. Im going out for the first time this year in two weeks and i cant wait. On the first saturday in july, im fishing a bass tourney for the 5th year in a row. I've had 3rd place twice and 2nd place twice so far. Maybe it my year?

fishing is so relaxing. You can hang out with friends, a girlfriend, and it is a good way to get in tune with nature.

I have a sign on my fridge that I was given by my ex-wife it pretty well sums up the importance of fishing to this mans' soul

" Fishing is not a matter of life or death, it is far more important than that!"

Fishing has been an almost lifelong love affair for me. I caught my first fish at the age of 7. A 2lb yellow fin bream with the 1st bait I ever put in the water. I caught it in Lake Macquarie NSW Australia. I can remember it as if it was yesterday.Yet it was just under 40 years ago.
Since then I have done many types of fishing, from Fresh water and Salt, light, to heavy tackle game fishing for tuna marlin and sharks. I have to say though that the types of fishing that refresh my soul the best are
1.Casting lures for bass in the East Coast of NSW rivers and streams
2. Fishing from the Intertidal rock ledges (rock fishing), fishing for black fish, drummer and spinning and live baiting for kingfish and small tuna species.

Both these types of fishing just put you so in touch with the natural environment. Ive had days where fishing my favourite bass stream I've fished for 8 hours and caught nothing and yet felt as refreshed as other days where i've caught a full creel.
Mind you I now practice catch and release 99% of the time.
Not because I dont like eating fish but just because most fish are too good to catch only once.

As a very wise person once said
"Give a man a fish and you feed his body for a day.
Teach a man to fish and you feed his body and soul for a lifetime."

Hard to be bored while fishing, really, even if you're a live bait plunk it in the water and sit around waiting type person.

At least that's how I see it in my 156 mile long fishing hole called the Indian River Lagoon, you've got dolphin and manatees and the occasional alligator, and all kinds of birds. You take the kayak out (like I'm planning on doing tomorrow), get out, drift/paddle around some, and enjoy the surroundings. What's more fun than being an inch or so higher than the water with dolphins swimming 20 feet away?

I bring a mini fishing pole with me in my car, and if I have free time, if I drive by a water source, I go pick up some bait, and fish for 30 mins or so... Then when we go up north, I got my boat, I'm out on the lake all day, literally... 10-13 hours a day from sunrise to whenever I go in with a few bottles of water and a few snacks for the day.. I eat breakfast and dinner up north... That's my up north life... CANADA CREEK RANCH... I love that place.. Atlanta, MI

Fishing is great, very relaxing, and an awesome family sport.
You know what I mean if you have ever taught your children to fish.

There is nothing boring about Bass fishing, even if you catch nothing, the hunt is almost as much fun, trying out some new techniques and combinations of action for your different lures can keep you busy for days. I love it, and always will.

I find fishing very enjoyable. it is a challange to find what the fish are biting on and where they are. The main thing is keeping in mind that you are away from all the pressures of everyday life and you can just enjoy nature and the soothing sound of the water.

Catfish are common river and lake fish all over the United States. Channel catfish, blue catfish, and flathead catfish are all commonly caught for eating. Look for deep water at the mouth of large creeks and rivers, and keep an eye out for sudden cut banks or drops. Catfish love these spots, but will head out to deeper water when it warms.
