It eventually asks me to install CD into drive, though there is no CD? Thank you for your help in advance.

1. You burn the ISO or Image, straight to a CD or DVD and then, you run it, or if it is one ofthe 800+ Free Opens Source OSes, with thousands of games and stuff, you reboot.

2. You can run an ISO in any *BSD or GNU/Linux Operating System, usually, in a shell.

I think the ISO file has to be burned to a CD as a Data File.
InfraRecoder will do this and it free.

There is a program called "PowerISO" I use. It mount iso files into a virtual drive, and you can play it.
