The Christian Church wrote the Bible in the first place, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Additional writings may be helpful even absolutely correct but the kind of trust we place in them is in no way comparable with the faith we place in Sacred Scripture.

possibly the challenge is which you're puzzled approximately what the early Christian believed? Heresy became creeping into the church for the period of the 1st century. So submit to in innovations as you examine the writings of the early church, no longer each and every thing you would be examining would be staggering. The e book of Galatians became written via fact people had fallen remote from Christ for coaching that Christians have been required to nevertheless save on with the regulation of Moses.

You are twisting God's Word in Revelation where we are not to add or take away from God's Word. Doesn't mean we aren't to read or believe in other moral teachings. If it adds to or subtracts from what God has written only. Example: If you say you only want to believe this part of the Word, but not that part = you are subtracting. If you say you believe in the Word of God, but you think we should believe in another god, this is adding to what God has intended and written. Your question is not adding or subtracting, but is TWISTING the Word. Be careful, satan twists the Word as a way of deceiving people. I'm not saying you are intentionally doing this, and maybe you really didn't know. Now you do. This ans is Biblical.

Let us put it this way:
Anything more than the words in the 66 books of the Bible is not Bible. God says do not add or take away from the 66 books.

Define a Christian and then you'll have your answer.
So what is a Christian?
A Christian is a Christian because they believe in Jesus Christ. They trust God through Jesus Christ and lean on His Spirit when it comes to guidance through life. The Bible is their text for knowing how God acts, and what He expects from us, and understanding where we stand with Him.
All those other things are other things. Take that last paragraph and know that whatever gets in the way to hinder you from those things doesn't belong in your life.

I tend to agree with Kev here:
Philippians 4:8 says "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Surly there are many virtuous, lovely, and good books which qualify for Christians to "think on." We just need to be wise and with the help of the spirit judge in our hearts what is pure, honest, praiseworthy, virtuous or of good report.

Read what you want .... as long as God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are at the top of your list of belief and faith. Then, whatever you read will be taken in context with God's teachings.
What book are you wondering about?
