Jesus died for our sins on the cross and redeemed the human race. It's Good Friday because of that day we can be reconciled with God and achieve salvation. Good Friday is the greatest evil and the greatest good that ever happened.

I guess it is a reminder that even though the crucifixion was awful, it was for a good purpose.
