Neither religion believes in such "debates".

(Titus 3:9) But shun foolish questionings and genealogies and strife and fights over the Law, for they are unprofitable and futile.

Interestingly, these are the only two Christian religions that have a global reputation for public preaching.

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.

(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.

(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house

The rhetorical skills of the debater is what wins debates, no longer their worldview. Dr. William Craig Lane is an marvelous debater regardless of the undeniable fact that he has a morally bankrupt worldview (evangelical Christianity and youthful earth creationism).

These debates are mostly silly. If you keep it to the bible alone, then the Jehovah Witnesses are likely more prepared, but nothing is ever proved.

Mormons believe in a modern prophet. They believe that the priesthood authority was restored to the earth. They believe in the Book of Mormon and other scriptures that clear up a lot of questions that are constantly asked here. They believe that Christ directs the LDS church today through his prophet as he has at other times.

If you believe that then what is there to debate? If you don't then why are you debating with Mormons?

Don't know.
I've never debated with a mormon before.

I don't like debates anywho. But since I use the Bible, I'd say the Bible wins.

One can only "win" a debate, where there is a possibility of two or more different outcomes. When it comes to the Word of God, there is ONE truth, ONE God, and ONE outcome for those who Worship in Spirit and Truth.

Both Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses deny that Jesus was God in the flesh. Thus, according to scripture, they are in error. Only the Lord knows what the future holds for each individual in these groups, as only He can see the inner heart and thoughts of man.

We are to exemplify Christ! At all times, we are either drawing others closer to God, or placing stumbling blocks in their way by our actions, which is a sin.

The Lord did not take part in frivolous debates, for the purpose of being seen before men. He preached Truth, so that those who truly desired a relationship with the Lord, could be saved.

God's Word is not a game or competition...it is life or death.

Blessings, Miji

Well, hopefully the Mormon is not "debating"...we are taught that the spirit of contention is of the devil, that's why we try not to get into religious arguments.

I agree with AGAPE there. Jehovah's Witness will win every debate but debate will only cause more animosity and lack of respect and love towards one another. Am I right? So, jehovah's witnesses will not debate Mormons or any religion. They can discuss a topic without debating but Witnesses are smart enough and well taught when to stop a discussion. Keep in mind too that not all Witnesses are advanced in bible knowledge so if you ask them one question they cannot answer, don't jump to conclusion that they don't know anything. They will research the topic and will come back to give it to you. But hey! i'm sure mormons are probably the same.

I have one thing to say to this. If you adhere to Bible teaching, you are benefitting in every way (now and forever).

2 Timothy 3:16,17 “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.”

Psalms 19:7-10 “The law of Jehovah is perfect, bringing back the soul. The reminder of Jehovah is trustworthy, making the inexperienced one wise. 8 The orders from Jehovah are upright, causing the heart to rejoice; The commandment of Jehovah is clean, making the eyes shine. 9 The fear of Jehovah is pure, standing forever. The judicial decisions of Jehovah are true; they have proved altogether righteous. 10 They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much refined gold; And sweeter than honey and the flowing honey of the combs.”

Isaiah 48;17,18 “This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. 18 O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.”

Deuteronomy 4:2 “YOU must not add to the word that I am commanding YOU, neither must YOU take away from it, so as to keep the commandments of Jehovah YOUR God that I am commanding YOU.”

Proverbs 8:8; 30:5,6 “All the sayings of my mouth are in righteousness. Among them there is nothing twisted or crooked. 5 Every saying of God is refined. He is a shield to those taking refuge in him. 6 Add nothing to his words, that he may not reprove you, and that you may not have to be proved a liar.”

Ecclesiastes 3:14 “I have come to know that everything that the [true] God makes, it will prove to be to time indefinite. To it there is nothing to add and from it there is nothing to subtract; but the [true] God himself has made it, that people may be afraid on account of him.”

Revelation 22 18,19 “I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll.”

Joshua 23:14-16 “Now, look! I am going today in the way of all the earth, and YOU well know with all YOUR hearts and with all YOUR souls that not one word out of all the good words that Jehovah YOUR God has spoken to YOU has failed. They have all come true for YOU. Not one word of them has failed. 15 And it must occur that, just as all the good word that Jehovah YOUR God has spoken to YOU has come upon YOU, so Jehovah will bring upon YOU all the evil word until he has annihilated YOU from off this good ground that Jehovah YOUR God has given YOU, 16 because of YOUR overstepping the covenant of Jehovah YOUR God that he commanded YOU, and because YOU have gone and served other gods and bowed down to them. And Jehovah’s anger will certainly blaze against YOU, and YOU will certainly perish in a hurry from off the good land that he has given YOU.”

In this hypothetical situation, I don't know who would win. The JW by and large is there to argue, but the Mormons are generally told not to argue and rather leave.

Both of them would be utter helpless. They are not Christians and have completely different Bibles. The Mormons added books to the Bible, while the JWs have their own "official" Bible with their own translation.

I will challenge any mormon to an e-mail debate.

NIETHER....because a debate between them would never happen. They are both on the streets, knocking on doors at the same time. When would they meet?
