I have a friend that is interested with working with children, but doesn't want to be a doctor because of the whole blood aspect. What is a medical career (a DOCTOR, not a nurse) that can work with children, but doesn't involve alot of blood?

most medical jobs require work with blood if your friend wants to help childfren that really need it they should become a social worker then they could do a lot of good for kids (and adults) but not have to deal with the blood

Your friend might consider Occupational or Physical therapy, Child Psychology, Audiology, Speech Pathology, Dental hygienist and there are lots of careers outside the medical field that involve working with children. All the career paths in Social Services, for example.

There ARE careers in nursing and medicine that don't involve blood but to get there the education and training does include exposure to blood and gore.

Child psychology. Any other field as a "Dr." as in M.D. is going to at least require working with blood and a lot of it as a resident in pursuit of an M.D. The only other thing close would be pediatric physical therapist or a pediatric speech pathologist and there you may have to look at a PhD if they are really intent on being called a "Dr". A child psychologist would require a PhD

Speech pathology is a wonderful job that can allow you to work with and help children. Very satisfying career and no blood.
