One of the delivery guys who comes into my work must be Catholic, because he was asking if he could eat chicken today or just fish. I'm not Catholic, but I thought that the rule was fish only. Then he asked if eating other seafood like shrimp was ok, too.

So now I'm curious. Any Catholics (or non-Catholics) out there who know exactly what the rules are? Just fish? Chicken too? All seafood?

Fish and seafood are okay. That's why most restaurants have clam chowder on Fridays.

Chicken and red meat are not allowed.

With love in Christ.

Lols...
Today we are not suppose to eat. After going to church and come home, we eat only fish and bread for supper. To be honest I really don't know if there is any rules about this given by the pope. But this has been our family tradition.

If Jesus can shed his blood for us on a day like this.. why cant we at least limit on things that we like to eat and do something different.

I would think if someone was of any particular 'religion' they would know what was going on as far as their own rules. isnt it a bit odd that people don't know 'their rules'? in order for it to be 'real' they should study the religion and not just 'do' parts of it

The rule is no meat. Chicken, pork, beef, whatever.

Have a piece of fish.

A salad.

Some pasta.

A cheese pizza.

It's not that difficult, really.

It doesn't have to be fish, just not meat.
