The word "fear" is really a mistranslation. The original Hebrew means to have great awe for or to be in awe of. Christians should recognize the nature of God as being awe inspiring.

you don't know what you're saying you're simply because you're very ignorant about GOD.christian don't fear GOD they respect GOD anyway what do christian have to admit before you who posted you as judge on here.don't you know that jesus gave satan a big defeat on the cross ,those who beleive in GOD have got satan under their feet so i can hardly imagine how he can bite something from there......

Because God is worth fearing. Christian fear however is not the trepidation of dread--it comes from appreciating ow awesome God is--how mighty and powerful and yet how loving. Christians fear loosing that love, they fear sin and separation from God. Once you have enjoyed His presence and love, nothing else matches that. The christian fear is of love--like a wife being afraid lest she does something to upset a very loving and absolutely faithful husband. It is not a dread--rather she tries to please Him--doing what He loves

We fear God because we believe in his power and resolve. You need to read the Old Testament.

According to christian belief, he installed that theory by his ten commandments since they wanted physical proof to go by, as well as a threat its his way or the highway. Its a sence of using mind over matter that he installed in us. So think about it if you willed it what could happen? It would be so. He sends energy so it is so.

The word fear in this case is a healthy fear and respect of a Greater Being...the kind of fear that keeps a dumb *ss from doing something really stupid. But so many lack it...oh, well.

We don't fear Him, we love Him because He loved us first. The Bible, esp. the KJV refers to the fear of the Lord, but it really means reverence & awe.

The word "fear" as utilized in Scripture is
"respect, reverence".
I doubt that if Satan jumped up and bit your butt you would even realize it.
