I'm a northern native, so to us it is called pop...
I'm a huge fan of Faygo, I rotate between cream soda, grape, and root beer, and then there's Vernors...mmm...
Seems like most people are forced into drinking the big names.

*TOM* You can't get Vernors? We have it in Michigan, everywhere.
And to all commenting about Jones. YAY! Jones is the best pop there is, hands down. But, Faygo offers 24 oz bottles for under a buck, so Faygo it is for me!

You are obviously from Michigan. Faygo is only available in MI and I think Ohio now too, and Vernors is very limitedly distributed as well. As a former Michigander, I sympathize. I live in VA now, and can't find any good pop (not soda). Jones Soda Co. has a few tasty flavors though

I can't stand Coke or Pepsi... I was raised on & still drink mostly Dr. Pepper and Vernor's... I also have found that I like Birch (root)beer, cream soda and fruit flavored sodas, like the ones made by A-Treat, a local company.

Yes, I'm from Texas and we drink lots of Dr. Pepper (regular and diet) down here. In fact we guzzle it, every Texas girl drives around with either a huge Big Gulp of Diet Dr. Pepper, or a huge Big Gulp of iced tea.
Also I like Mexican sodas, especially one called "Sangria Senorial" which kind of resembles fizzy Hawaiian Punch. The Mexican apple soda ("Sidral") is good, too. (Unfortunately as I have aged, I can hardly drink regular soda anymore, only the diet kind - it's not just because of weight gain, but also because the sugared kind irritates my stomach.)
Oh, and those Italian sodas that come in the little tiny bottles are really good, too. I'm having trouble remembering the name of that right now. They taste somewhere between a cola and a bittersweet orange. It might be called an Aranciata. Really sweet but also this interesting bitter orange-peel taste. Also that European Orangina soda. Also there's a diet root beer called IBC that's good.
From my childhood, I can remember various flavors of Nehi -- grape and orange and strawberry -- but you don't really see that anymore.

Barqs (the root beer brand) used to make Red Cream Soda but I can never find it anymore but I love it. Typically when I buy soda I get flavored ones. Sunkist, Welch's Strawbeery, grape.
I'm originally form The Texas Mexico border and I love Apple soda the Mexican brands are better but Fanta Apple is good enough for me.

Not that this is on topic, but Jones soda the last few years has been growing like mad.
Hopefully they will continue to go and offer an alternative to coke and pepsi on a national scale. I mean besides dr. pepper

I drink all kinds of POP! We call it Pop in Canada as well...
I like Dr Pepper, Orange Crush, Grape Crush and A&W Rootbeer...
I also like Jones Soda (that's the name of it...) and Seaman's, which is locally produced...
I honestly buy whatever I like the look of...right at that very moment...
My grocery store has a green apple pop and a black cherry pop that are TDF!

When I was a kid, Vernor's was the best. Barrel-aged ginger ale.
The Jones sodas are pretty good, nowadays.
